yes, i'm getting used to this keyless entry and push button start. makes getting in the car with my hands full so much easier. When i first test drove a car with a push button I didn't like it, it was too different. But, after owning this car for a little over 2 weeks it has grown on me fast.

It does have some characteristics that are similar to the GT-R. The center part of the front end in particular. It is Funny as much criticizing as the media and random people on the Internet have done about the GT-R R35, yet many separate manufacturers have taken styling cues from it. Look at the new Corvette from the side it almost looks like a GT-R.

I cannot wait to get my BRZ. I think that this is the car that Nissan intended the Fairlady Z to be a light weight, tail happy, affordable sports car. I have been a fan of the Z in the past and it is the afore mentioned attributes that are what brought me to the BRZ over a new Z.

Good job to Subaru and Toyota on this awesome collaboration.

I met someone here locally in los angeles, that also has a GTR.

Its funny how he told me he likes driving the brz around more than the GTR, only because he feels the GTR is way too powerful for the roads.

he says the GTR sits more than it is driven so he wanted a toy he can play with more.

I can definitely see where that owner is coming from. The GT-R is a handful and it is powerful enough to put your life in jeopardy very quickly. The BRZ is an amazing car that transcends it's sticker price. The lower HP/TQ makes it a great DD and it is capable of good gas mileage to boot.

3000 is a lot (for me it was 4000 because of grad discount from scion). For 3000 you could get a keyless start from easy-go($600) and oem alcantra seat wraps ($900) etc etc. assuming you are a DIY type of guy. If you don't care about the boomerang hid or the interior switches i don't think it's worth it. For me living in socal where heated seats and dual climate control (do people really use this?) are just wasted money, the only options i really considered were the DRLs (not the HIDs since it cost 30 dollars to install a plug and play kit or 150 for a retrofit), alcantra, and push start which are all possible to do via aftermarket.

Keep in mind the twins are an economy car; 3000 is almost 1/8th the car. Is the dual climate control, alcantra heated seats upgrade, HIDs and push start really worth 1/8th the car..

These are valid points and show that the different models have been beneficial to allow people into such a great car at the separate price points.

Dual climate may be useless... but damn does it make the interior look so much better...

You are a prime example of the people I mostly hate for even suggesting installing a 30 dollar plug and play HID kit... you must not know what headlight cutoffs are and just blind every oncoming driver with your crap HID's

And a proper retrofit will run you about 300 bucks, not including all the necessary modifications required to make them properly fit the headlight.

why do it aftermarket, when you can do it with OEM/ warranty?

I also live in SoCal (LA), I love my butt warmer. Cold socal nights, windows down to feel cool air, turn on butt warmer to keep my body warm enough.

Dual Climate control? I sure do use them.

even if i didn't need dual climate control.. the center console looks much better than the regular AC control panel

All upgrade features are excellent in my "Sport-Tech" (Canadian version), and in my opinion well worth the extra $$. I also have a better Nav unit than the US versions (for some reason) and am super happy with how it looks/works! I also usually drive with my "parking" lights on (one turn of the light switch past the auto) and it lights up the "boomerang" strip and also keeps the led daytime lights on....looks SUPER cool!!! I also couldnt live without the heated seats.....or the dual zone climate control that works and looks awesome! Keyless entry....fantastic! Touch the door to lock/unlock......extra cool!
I also really like how the spoiler looks (some don't), but to me, it makes it look more complete and draws out the back end more. Also helps to differentiate between the FRS.
The seats are fantastic.....leather/alacanterra make such a nice combination, although I have not even seen the cloth seats, these are just much more high end.
I wish there was a different rim option to make it stand out a little more than the other model/Frs like other car company's do, but at least they are decent looking.
Just writing about it makes me wish I was done work so I could go and hit that sweet push button start and.....drive!

200% worth it! I love all the features, especially the smart key and push button start. I'm so used to it and spoiled that I find myself walking up to my '02 WRX and forget to take my keys out of my pocket and grab the door handle and it doesn't open!

just curious, do you plan on wiring up the BRZ boomerang led to your LED DRLs so that you won't ever have to put the stalk to parking-light mode? i'd hate to have to switch it on and off everytime i'd get in or out of the car.

Yeah I don't use the automatic headlights. 1) I don't need/want a car telling me when I should have my headlights on (since I'm a smart individual). 2) Automatic headlights are more prone to turning on/off more often (then when manually controlled) and the most wear and tear that are put on HIDs occurs when they are turned on.
