This thread is amusing...Drive both, compare features the way YOU would use them and then buy what floats your boat.

If this was a track\weekend car I would probably have bought the FR-S and just mod the hell out of it and not care about the amenities. But I use it as a daily driver so I wanted to have the extra features and I couldn't be happier with my decision. When you factor in the difference in cost, it is well worth it. Its a shame to refuse to spend the extra ~$2.5k and settle for an FR-S or withhold ~$1.5k for the Premium when you are already dropping $25k+ on a vehicle and then have buyers remorse over it. The difference in monthly payment (if applicable) is negligible.
It's ultimately up to the buyers preference but here's my input on each: - This is my first vehicle with keyless entry and I love it. It's going to be hard to go back to a vehicle where you have to actually reach for the keys. - The push to start is cool, I liked it on my S2000, but it isn't something I would have regrets over not having. - Dual-zone climate control, I love it, I've always hated having to constantly adjust regular systems on road trips. - Spoiler I like, but these cars look clean with or without it, not a deal breaker for me. - Seat heaters, heated mirrors and homelink mirror - I live in NJ so the mirrors and seats will come in good use and I keep my baby in the garage every night since I've owned it so it's definitely nice not having to keep a garage door opener in the car. - The interior is just awesome in both looks and comfort, I dont care what anyone says. The seats are super comfortable and I like them better than the S2000 seats. - Xenon headlights - A must have IMO and I would pay the extra to go from FR-S to BRZ for them alone. Once you go HID you can't go back (OEM not plug-n-play kits). The only thing I think the FR-S has that I would debate on switching to is the front bumper. The BRZ looks more mature in my opinion and has grown on me but it could look more sporty IMO. Sometimes the FR-S bumper looks girly to me though so I don't think I would ever pull the trigger on it. I also wish the tail-lights weren't so boy-racer looking. |

You point out that it's a logo and a marketing budget, but those two things are aimed at getting young people to buy the car. I am not a young person. Given the option between buying what is effectively the same car under a youth-oriented brand or a brand that does not necessarily market itself as being for a particular age group, I buy the second one without thinking about it. That being said, if the BRZ did not exist and the FR-S was the only way for me to buy this car, you can bet your ass I'd be driving a Scion and trying to outfit it with heated seats and a smart key. :happy0180: |

Initially the biggest reason I wanted the limited was for the switches and knobs for heating/cooling. I think it looks so much better than the premium or frs. The thing I've come to love the most and didn't expect it is the keyless entry and push button start. Also the HID's are some of the best headlights I've ever used.

If Scion offered the options and Subaru was the stripped out model would you have bought a Scion?

The scions get such a bad rep as a brand in general in my area whereas Subarus are generally more loved and seen as a family car.
Besides the higher resale and better dealership experience I wanted HIDs and keyless entry. Pushing a button on a key is way too much effort and "low end" these days lol. Make no mistake though. You can't go wrong in any version and this car was never intended to be a luxury or high end model. |

Btw based on these threads it really reaffirms the decision to release the two versions. Something for everyone (almost).
The one feature I really want is steeling wheel volume and track skip. Those controls and those only is all I need for a better eyes free head unit experience. |
