I have a question, first off I think john is an ass, he was a jerk to me and I'd never do business with him, but as an ASE mechanic, I can't help but look at Don for install issues.. If I'm installing a kit, or anything, I don't do it if it's janky.. No matter what it is.. I upset some people but if the part or product fails, they look at me.. If this kit is known to have so many problems, 1st why does anyone buy it, do people not research, 2nd why would any decent shop install it?? If in installing fuel lines and they don't fit properly, I don't just give it an extra turn on the clamp.. I get the right lines..
Also does Visconti make these in his shop, or do they have a vendor?? Did they give the right specs if a vendor builds these for them.. So who is at fault, the people who installed the part that wasn't right?? The company that supplied the part that wasn't right??? Or the vendor that supplied the part that wasn't right to the company??? If there is one?? |

Just thought I would leave this here.
This is the last post from Visconti on this forum..and may be his last. This pretty much sums him up as a vendor. Quote:

He was a complete douchebag from the start. I would never buy anything from him. Could care less about his product with his crappy attitude. He's your typical used car salesman with customer service at the bottom.
Looks like @FA20Club.com is an easy choice for a remote tuning solution. |

LOL @ everyone jumping on the hate bandwagon without much effort toward figuring out anything of value for the community itself.
It sucks what happened to the OP, but a fuel leak is usually caused by installation error first, a broken product second, and a tuner... almost never. Unless, of course, some of you believe John/Perrin/Tony all have a magical button in the ECUTek software to over-pressure the fuel lines/seals past their structural limit. I'm surprised he didn't see "Danger to Manifold" first. I hope the cause is found without the OP getting screwed over by insurance or whatever. |

Maybe, but it was installed at one of the shops John has worked the closest with. Part of the system John was tuning at the time involved the Flex Fuel kit. You would think he would have popped the hood and given it a once over at some point. Then again, maybe the leak wasn't that easily spotted.

Now, I will state this again, the cause of fire is Still Unkown. Secondly, about installer or tuner error, Don and John are "partners" in developing and testing Fuel Solutions for our cars. I agree with both of you, installer needs to be questioned also, but that does not exempt the vendor of the product which was knowingly leaking fuel.

Both parties involved in modifying and tuning this car are directly involved with it. Developing, installing, testing, etc. Again having said all that, the cause of the fire is still unknown, but the facts I posted above in bold are enough to shy me as far away as possible from this vendor.
