All that was said was when the FT-86 is "introduced in early 2012".

That could mean anything I guess... maybe it means a production version will be introduced at a car show then (hopefully not), or could mean that it starts production in 2012, or starts sales in 2012.

I'll upload the video of the FT-86 portion of the press conference in a little bit.

Gotta remember that statement was made to the press / public of Europe. The U.S. could easily see a production version on sales lots much earlier than that. The FT-86 still hasn't made it to U.S. soil and still hasn't been addressed in a manner in which is being spoken to the U.S. public.

+1

It'll definitely be introduced at the International Auto Show on a turntable first where nobody can interact with it, just look and take pics then production with the first ones available Fall to Winter 2012.

Assume the intial minor issues and recalls on the first batch of releases too.

By saying the words "extremely light" the spokeperson is actually benchmarking the FT-86.

What do you consider "extremely light" by today's standards?

S2000?
MK3 MX5?

so i know this is kinda off topic sorry every1 but ive been meaning to ask. did the ft-86 take the place of the ft-hs that big ass cow that was said to be the hybrid MKV supra? or are they 2 different concepts for the same car they kinda look alike but the ft-hs is freakin huge. and im guessing by the guys announce ment that its not the next gen supra... o well MKIV for me then.
