When I option out the stage 1 base and premium kits, there's a pretty big difference. Why would I opt for the premium kit? I went to the site, and with the "X" turbo, boost controller, ECUtech license and cable, which appears to put both kits pretty close to the same thing, there's a difference of well over $1000.

I'm also looking at getting a clutch ($600), an oil cooler ($600), radiator ($300), oil catch can ($100-$150) exhaust ($1000), what else am I going to need to get?

Do I need an electric boost controller? What about the 3 or 4bar MAF?

I want to order everything i need so my shop can install and tune my car in one shot.

Thanks for any help,

Mike
Here are your NEEDS:

FBM Turbo Kit
EcuTek

The truth is that everything else falls more along the lines of a want. I saw a stock clutch FBM car put down amazing runs on Saturday night and then AutoX the next morning. If you have the money, then buy all the parts you listed, but if you don't, then you can easily add them incrementally like I did. Here is how I break down the price difference between Basic and Premium:

Basic:

Production made
GT series turbo
4 bolt flanges

Premium:

Hand made
GTX series turbo
V band flanges

I think the slight difference in wastegates between the two is a wash and comes down to more V band "bling".

Seriously though, it would be so awesome watching a Prius beat a car.
Theres a guy that used to go out to SATX autocross in a fixed up prius. Bolt ons and suspension mods among other things, was alot quicker than I though It would be.

I dont think I have ever not seen a car emit some kind of visible smoke. I think that is pretty normal.

check oil and oil lvl, could have to much oil is smoke white or a blue color?

it looks white and that could mean head gasket but who knows without seeing the car first hand.

thats worst case. if your paranoid have them do a compression test

Looks like steam, which is normal.

My guess is that you never looked at the tailpipe before the turbo install and never noticed the steam.

Most every car blows some steam when cold, some continue even when hot depending on conditions.

The vid looks like steam. Smoke lingers, steam dissipates after a short time.
