There is I think bit ill tell you how to do it.
First remove 10 mm bolts on top of the clip there are 5 of them. Then undo the 2 clips towards middle. Remove the hood gasket strip. Next part is easier with a helper but I did it by myself....pull gently up on the clip amd youll see 2 bolts that attach the snorkel. I think they are also 10mm may be 12mm cant remember. Now while still pulling up on the clip ypu have to finagle the snorkel out after a while it may start to seem impossible just keep at it, it will eventually come out just need the right angle and finess. But this mod is great and adds that boxer tone.

Didn't perrin do a bunch of testing on intakes? I had planned to make my own, but from their r&d they posted on this forum just simply moving the maf can cause the car to run lean. That was my worry. I wanted to do an aluminum "icebox" style intake with a snorkel, but running lean scares me. No money for tuning software at the moment. Drop ins are supposed to be good till 200whp.

The TRD intake relocates the MAS and it doesnt affect the afr. As long as MAS is housed in a 3 inch diameter pipe it will be ok.

That's not quite true. Any changes to the path will affect the air passing over the sensor. Quite how much is down to testing but even a dead straight pipe will cause different readings.

Yeah, if he made that snorkel I'd totally buy it + an elbow for mine. Have a drop-in and the rest stock at the moment. The FA20Club CAI looks slick, especially for the awesome price, but I don't want to remove my front bumper to service the filter. Shoot me PMs if anyone decides to fab up something like this.

Yes I know. There are many parameters that go into an air intake. I was just stating that you can move the MAS and still have a good AFR. You can also move it and run lean, it does take testing to find out what is optimal.
The intakes I made never had any stalling or idle dips and I relocated MAS. Relocating MAS can change the AFR readings....what I was meaning is change in OD of the intake pipe where MAS is housed will disrupt readings significantly.
