There's also a 1/64th Kyosho one on Ebay from Hong Kong for ~$16 that is really nice, and a 1/43rd one for a bit more that is super nice. Look to be authentic Toyota promo pieces.

I was just in Akihabara last week. Didn't see those Toyota 86's but they were selling blue Subaru BRZ's for about $20. Guess I should have bought a few...

Got my 3. They seem pretty legit. The reason why it wasn't on the official website was probably because the ones being sold on ebay were an international version before the US release.

$18 for both? $9 each? I just bought one at Justco for ¥298 ($3 USD). Also bought an R35 GT-R, a C6 Z06, and an SLS AMG. Total cost of ~$12.

I am glad they finally brought it out.
I wonder how long till they filter down to NZ. I look every time I go to the warehouse / toy store etc, for a GT 86 and a Subaru of any kind.
Still waiting for the HW Subaru Brat to turn up at any of the stores.

Toys R Us has the FR-S. They also have it in a 20-pack if you're willing to pay $19.99 for one or two cool cars from it (so look for an unlikely combo of the AE86, 2000, and/or FR-S). That said, b/c Toys R Us has it in their combo pack, it will most likely be at TRU only for a lil while before the other stores. Nice part, it's in the case as the Concept NSX and re-released Batmobile.

Here's the lot with 2 FR-S per case...
