LEDs dim/turn off when braking ?
When I am driving and braking normally everything is fine , but if I need to hit the breaks hard from a decent speed I noticed my DTRs will turn off until I stop completely then turn back on as if nothing happend.. ( I can see the lights shut off in the reflection of other cars ahead of me ) is this normal ?

I'm sorry but your car is totaled.
Just take it into the dealership. Check your e-brake handle to make sure it doesn't wiggle or anything like that.

Sounds like your RPM may be dipping too low under hard braking if these are DRLs.

How can the DRL's be related to RPM? It's either you are on (driving) or not (off or parked). DRL's are a safety feature so they aren't supposed to shut off with low RPM.

You can basically see your car "dying" when it's on the verge of stalling. If that's the case, then there's nothing wrong, but if your RPM's are high, then it is a problem. |

Kal , I drive AT, manual mode usually and sometimes I downshift aggressively .. could that with braking be the issue ? I should test this with it in auto mode and see if it happens ? I read LEDs can't dim like stock bulbs they just shut off ?

If this doesn't happen in AT with the stock bulbs for you, it shouldn't happen with LED's either. Check to make sure the connections to the LED's aren't loose and just temporarily come undone under hard braking and if you can't fix it, then I suggest contacting the people you bought your DRL's and switchbacks from and asking for a replacement set. |

It really sounds like under braking the revs are dropping low and there isn't enough voltage being supplied by the alternator so the voltage to the bulbs drops. I can recreate this on mine by letting the revs drop too low from a stop (manual).

I'm not sure you can lug the engine in an AT.
