Depends on where you live some places have weird residential curb entries to houses. I cannot back straight out because when the front wheels drop down the sharp ramp, the momentum bounce is enough to bottom the car. I have to back out one front wheel at a time. Then its OK, but another inch in the snow can be useful on streets that don't get plowed, except for the bus routes!

Very old thread to resurrect, but I figured this is the most appropriate place for it. I'm also looking for a way to slightly increase my ride height since I live in a not so low car friendly neighborhood. I've done quite a bit of research on height adjustable after market coil overs but all of them seem to be lower than stock at the highest setting.

I think the BRZ has a ground clearance of 5.9 inches which is pretty normal for a passenger car. It only looks low, it's actually pretty normal height.

![]() I've used a set of these on my wrx in the past with little trouble (to get that little bit of extra height to survive those ruts from weekend rallyx's). Haven't heard of anybody using them here or in other forums. Seems like they just took their wrx and outback kits. Agreed, but in my case, regular passenger cars (like my brother's civic) still scrape. Basically, my driveway dips down to my garage, which is below my house. I slightly high-center/scrape my mid pipe going over the sidewalk on my way down to the garage. |

i personally wouldn't get coilovers since their damper settings are likely to be much stiffer than stock and the ride quality simply goes out the door! for a place like alaska, i'd guess you would want to avoid wheel hop after hitting a bump while keeping as much weight on the tires to maintain maximum traction.
i would look at alternative (taller) springs from other cars that fit the stock shocks/struts to get the added ride height, while keeping the stock dampers. also, those top strut mount spacers are a good idea.
