Is the only way to adjust the beep volume to use this software? I called my local toyota dealer and the service representative said the volume is not adjustable - they could just turn it on or off. I kind of didn't buy it..

Came across this during a search, but I just had mine turned up to 7 at the dealer. They did say 7 was as high as it would go. They were able to do it during my oil change. I also had the seat belt reminder chime turned off. Hope this helps.

If you don't mind me asking, which dealer did you take it to?

Ventura Toyota. They seem to know what they were doing. Didn't look at me funny when I asked them to program the chimes. It was my first interaction with them but so far so good. They didn't break my car or screw up the oil change.

Update: went to Toyota of Riverside today and asked them to turn up the beep with my oil change. Thankfully they were able to do it without any questions asked. I guess it depends whether the service rep you initially talk to is competent enough.. Sorry OP, didn't mean to hijack!
