You guys remember when the iPhone first launched? I worked for AT&T then, I had a line of 100 people outside my store, they all got one but guess who was back when the iPhone 3G came out? The same people and they got stuck with that phone because they weren't able to upgrade, same principle applies here, you might get the car first but you might be getting something you aren't happy with.
Just think about that before you sign up.

unless you just sign up because you're very eager for a test drive :P but otherwise i completely agree with what you're saying.

This goes back to the point about why we want to see the options list and pricing.

I'd suspect the push button won't be an option at all, but will be in a release series.

Is push button really that big of a deal? When did we get too lazy to even turn a key?

It's a take it or leave it for me. I do want the Alcantara seats though, which at least for the BRZ means the RFID key system is required. I'm really indifferent about it though. I'd prefer a "here's the base car and a list of X options. Pick what you want and order it." type of sales model.

That would be perfect world situation! I wish you could do that, just pick and choose what options you want. I suppose thats how they make the money off of ya.. They know you want the leather so they put it on the most expensive package.. Bastards!

Keys are so last century. I want to be able to walk up to my whip and get in it and push a button to start it or push a button to stop it. Just make it a option. I did not say make it standard. But hey a lot of cars have it standard these days. Even cheap cars.

i personally dont want to own a 2012 or 2013 car that isn't push start, its like tripjammer said "last century" it has nothing to do with being lazy....I just know that it should come standard like the 86 does in Japan.
so ill wait for my car to have all the options i want before i buy.

This push start thing isnt going to ever die down. BRZ limited get an 86 bumper, profit. After market push start, profit. Wait, profit. Not getting a good car over a button.

Priceless.

thread is about sign up stop jacking threads and making them about push start have some respect.

Its rediculous how every fifth thread is jacked to go to this button.

no one is jacking anything up, i simply stated that my dealer told me that the first 86 wont come with it.
i was just letting people know that before they summit.... that is what this forum is for right? to inform and help others.

Unless it's the type of push-start where you still need to insert and turn the key, before pressing the button.
That was how Honda did it in my FD2, not sure if the S2000 was the same.
