You're obviously 16 years old and this is your first car.

Two totally different noises. One normal, one not. Going to use 87 octane Shell next tank, just for GP.

Not sure if anyone else has posted this here but whenever I run e85 the crickets go away and as soon as I switch back to pump gas 91 e10 they come right back.

Is the chirping really that big of a deal? I find it to be quite charismatic.

They installed my second pump and it started chirping within 200 miles. I've not gone back for another.

I guess I have the sprinkled angel dust BRZ. Just took a 580 mile road trip from Nebraska to Michigan and no chirps. The drive home I guess will tell if I get them. Only thing I noticed was a lower coolant level but that is expected for 8-9 hours of driving with few stops.

Oh and sitting at 6700 miles

Is this cricket thing really that bad?! Does it hurt the engine? I'm sure we'd all receive a recall notice if Toyota finds it a problem. So what's the freaking big deal?

Sold as a sports car but sounds like it's wheezing and on its last legs when it drinks E10.

Enjoy your more knock-prone tank of gas.

Not quite. I know you like to use hyperbole, but in the interest of accuracy, it sounds like a cricket chirping constantly. And some people who haven't jumped and gotten the pump replaced are reporting that the crickets are going away.
