I already changed my 08 Auris for cheaper car. I'm starting to save money and planning to get GT86 in '14.

I am surprised some of us would trade the NSX, Supra, Type-R and some the other great cars for what is essentially a cheaply priced rwd coupe.

Hell wait a few years and pick up a FRS/BRZ used for even cheaper then and keep those in your collection or at least wait until you get a real chance to drive the FRS/BRZ before selling them.

To each his own, I am just surprised from my perspective.

A lot of us were too young when the japanese legacy cars were new, so we weren't able to get one. The idea of owning a sports car from new, and growing with it, is more appealing to me than a 20 year old Supra, that has a slowly dieing aftermarket. Part of the fun in owning a car is the development itself for me.

I have to agree with you. As cool as I think it would be to own a supra or 240 and rebuilding a classic. I personally would enjoy more watching the development of this new breed. If it all works out, this would be my very first new vehicle as well.

You're absolutely right, driving it daily (minus the really poor MPG) was a blast, but I've got the itch to get back into a smaller car I can track (previous car was an e36 m3). Being a big BMW fan, the FR-S reminds me most of a modern day e30 m3. I'm confident it can live up to those expectations

I totally agree to this statment , and plus being in a supra in one form or another for the last 13 years I find myself wanting a new car ( possible track car too) something I can DD, mod, grow with, and enjoy, again the supra is fun I think its just that my requirments for a fun car have changes like fun at lower speeds, mod friendly, light and some what cheap to maintain. With Supras, NSX's and what not you are always wondering what will need to be replaced, the attention it gets, pushing an older car harder, wear and tear ect....to the point where you have an awesome car it is just to much of a hassel or it is really high maintance.... Think hot blond with perfect EVERYTHING that only gives it up once a month, nice to have and show off just a pain to own...LOLmoving to a nice girl next door type of woman that gives it up all the time and does what ever you want...LOL
