Just got another email back, after I tried to order...
Good to see they're trying to fix the issue, and doing the testing before rushing back onto the market. Hi Mike, At this stage the tops are still getting the development of the washers and are in a few cars being tested before we sell them again. We will hopefully have them back on the shelf in about 6-8 weeks time. Camber bolts are below. KCA416 Front Camber adjusting bolt kit - 16mm The biggest adjustment range up to +/- 1.75 deg. Unlike other “friction” lock designs we use a positive toothed lock washer which mean NO SLIP. Hmm I wonder how thick there washer will be. The current impreza washer is to thick for use with the konis and it raises the car. I have pics of the 3rd set I just took off the car the bearing casing has lots of wear marks on it. I also noticed the bearing casing on the oem top hat is made of thick rubber not metal. So maybe the rubber seal has some flex in it that the metal casing does not. In the pic below you can see the bottom of the top hat I just took off. you can see the wear on the bearing casing it self showing that the conical washer of the oem top hat below is digging into it. not good. below that is the stock wrx conical washer you can clearly see that the flat spot is only the size of the inner part of the bearing where the oem is much larger and does not taper.

@Racecomp Engineering Andy or Myles, if you have the parts handy, could you take a look and give an educated guess about the machine-ability of the built in washer? Do you know of any reason why the older two piece design wouldn't work, ie. is it taller? Thanks |

It looks like there's two spot welds holding that flat washer to the OEM perch. Do you think those could be drilled out and the washer removed. Allowing us to just get the conical washers? I'm sure whiteline is going to do there best to give us a proper fix for this, just trying to explore options. |

As I saw the pictures in this link http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1757339, the method to remove welded flat washer and add a conical washer could work.

Also, I know I'm getting way off topic here, but I remember reading somewhere about the effects of having the spring offset from the strut, but I can't remember what it was. Anyone remember? |

Does the old ccoms have a rubber bearing seal like the oem top hats or a metal casing like the new ones?

They do, but guys were going through them almost as often as the new style so I don't think that will be enough protect the bearing without ensuring the load goes where it's supposed to.
