I will have to replace mine soon. I hope that I don't go thru the same thing as when I bought my last one. Does anyone know what the waiting list is like on a manual high in red?

I don't know, red is the colour of danger. People seem to write them off, so there aren't as many in circulation anymore...

Joking aside, I'm glad you're okay and that you're getting another one. Way to get back on the proverbial horse.

I asked my dealer for an oil change since I wouldn't be able to top up in case I needed to with the factory oil since they couldn't even confirm which oil it was.

They scheduled an oil change and an ECU update. Took it in today to Barloworld Toyota Kuilsriver.

Not only did they pay for the oil, they also paid for the replacement TRD oil filter (since I had one in from new). They were very nice and I jumped the queue when I got there. Highly recommend them for people in the Cape.

Hi guys.
Can the Cape Town boyz show me to a good Toyota dealer as the one i have taken my car to has not given me good workmanship? Dent in door, damaged interior panels after attempting to repair a intermittent speaker, cutting the rubber boot under the gear lever and duck taping it back on replacing the rattling gear lever, scratching the front bumper and scratching engine bay parts to sort out faulty injectors just to mention a few problems i have had.

Ouch, sorry to hear about your troubles.

What was wrong with the injectors? Symptoms, solution, etc?

The seals on the injectors got damaged with the initial software and now the air is leaking past the seals witch causes the car to ping. So they are going to replace the direct port injectors.
Vehicle pings when hot under harsh acceleration.

That's not nice. Did they say how long it would take for the parts to arrive?

Don't buy red, I like the uniqueness :-P

I bought mine from Imperial Toyota Randburg. Great sales services from Sales Manager, Rakesh...I even got a Chivas with my car :-D

Sales lady just got lucky as I phoned TSA looking for the red High MT and heard the car was on order for the same dealership, and another for Botswana. The lady was lucky enough to pick up my call and got a ready made sale She didn't even know that the car was on order !

Haven't gone in for a service yet but the service manager there is a tuner, and is willing to "discuss" matters as long as it does not interfere with the safety of the engine and essential functions of the car.

Suggest having a chat to him of you plan to.....experiment :-D

regards,
Dr

So far, only used Halfway Honeydew (next to the dome). Service has been above and beyond so not planning to go anywhere else.
Havnt had to service yet so will see how that goes, but they treat little issues like big issues and that's good enough for me.
Can definitely recommend visiting them.

Theresa from McCarthy Midrand was brilliant in getting me into an 86 within 2.5 weeks. She did all the leg work, found the colours I was interested in and started all the paperwork for my trade-in. Best front office sales experience I've had so far it must be said. She was also knowledgeable about the car, more so than other sales staff. They are moving to their new offices soon so I will see what the aftersales service is like in the next few months after the 1st service.

Midrand has a high sales staff turnover so no one I spoke to last year were around. I got the run around from Halfway Toyota Fourways.
