Driving in mostly 6th gear on highways for about 40 miles per day , I average about 24-25mpg. The highest I ever had was 31mpg on a road trip to Florida.

Reading this thread I can't help but think... DIRECT INJECTION ROCKS! :P

I only get 20mpg with my 2.5l Impreza (non-turbo). I can't wait to get my BRZ and see the mileage on the road trip back home

My commute is 70% highway and 30% city, I've been averaging 31-33 MPGs for the tank. Observed highway only mileage is up in 35-37 mpg range which is ludicrously awesome.

Was sitting at 32.5 after the California trip.
Bumped up to 32.9 now after the Montanna roads.

Dash monitor. Got better.

May be partly the Mont. Conoco gas.
Shell pulled out of that area entirely.
Don't recall seeing any Chevron.

How was this measured? If you're using the dash monitor it's not accurate.

I'm tracking 4200+ miles so far, dash says I'm averaging over 30MPG combined. Actual data says 27.8.

On my almost 1800 mile trip from oregon to arizona with a few stops in cali too I averaged 38 mpg. (borla header, muffler delete being the only mods (no tune btw) and accounting for the tire % difference, equates to about .4mpg difference. Overall I was cruising on that trip about 55-75mph with a few spurts of 90 in the desert.

During the normal daily grind here in AZ, I drive mostly highway and and do have some light traffic, but probably still average around 75mph, I get 32 on average.

I normally get around 20mpg--I'm an almost exclusively city driver. But this weekend, I went up to NJ for a trip to visit a friend and magically returned about 36mpg on a nearly all-highway trip. Talk about efficient.

Normal mixed driving puts me right around 31, cruising on the freeway at 80 averages out at 35 - 36. If I keep cruise control set at 65... 39. Go up twisty roads and through empty streets... 22 - 24. AT w no mods.

4500 miles and I average about 25mpg in stop'n'go traffic. I'd say 90% of my driving doesn't go above 20mph.

Car is completely stock.

So I'm almost to my 4th fillup and I've gotten ~26 mpg the last 2 fillups after getting my wider tires... 70% of my driving is highway but I usually go 75 - 80. I'm hoping to figure out how to get my average MPG to 29+...

Like other have mentioned, the dash computer is not accurate. It is usually 1mpg too high on mine when I compare it to the actual mileage divided by the number of gallons on fillup. Also, I am curious how many people who get high mileage are driving automatics. I noticed that if I keep my rpm's below 3k I can get 30+mpg even in the city. However, as I own a MT it is insanely difficult to drive stop and go and have to shift that often. I average 25 mpg with a 50/50 mix of highway and city driving. I don't baby it, but I dont do much above 5k either.

I will say that on a two hour road trip I was able to get 34mpg, so I know it can be done. My theory about those who claim high mpg in the city is that they must be driving automatics. I can not imaging driving my MT and shifting as often as is necessary to achieve those numbers.

So far my fuelly worst is 30.1 mpg. That's mixed hwy city for my commute. I drive a MT and baby it to work but rip the wheels off on the way home. 90 miles round trip.

My average is 31.6 mpg to date over 2700 miles.

Current mileage is 2830 and I'm at 32.6 actual / calculated MPG and 33.0 MPG indicated on the dash board.

It is my semi-daily driver and the car sees red line regularly. Way better than my pro-tuned 06 STi at 22-23 mpg even though I'm revving the FA20 higher and more often (due to lack of mid range torque )
