I originally read that as curb rash on the wheel, not on the tire.

What you are showing is normal for beating on a DD tire. That's fairly normal. Mine are probably worse. There is some sidewall flex depending on how stiff the tire is. You could counteract that by pumping up the tire pressure, but you'll probably lose grip. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it either. From the picture I would say you are NOT scrubbing past the tread pattern at all. The scuff marks down the sidewall do not look at all like you're rolling that far over, the line of demarcation between scrubbed and nonscrubbed tread is clear. The light scuffing looks more like you drove through something like 1" high stiff astroturf or something, not at all like that part of the tire has been on the road while cornering.
