Just a tide me over until a real STi version comes out. We can wait another 2 years for them to come out with a proper STi.

I was thinking the same when I read that post. I thought it was considered an "enthusiast's" car because only an enthusiast would be able to deal with the Fisher-Price interior, lack of amenities, and lack of power in exchange for a "pure driving experience". If you bought the car and the first thing you did was put a turbo on it then you just fixed one of the biggest gripes from the "average consumer". (I apologize for the excessive amount of "quotations")

Disappointing. Basically a bunch of cosmetic add-ons, plus a BBK.

tS = the Suck?

The reason is that the GTI has the low/midrange punch of a small turbo, whereas the Twins have a hole.

Owning both cars though, I can tell you that if you downshift the Twins into the lowest gear possible, they feel similar.

hmmm....how would've this release changed your mind?

FR-S = $25255

BRZ tS = $41000

Unless you got the 10 series, that's almost $16k difference in price.

Personally, when you go over $30k you are in a dangerous territory if you are thinking on buying a BRZ to mod. You have so many options: 370z, Camaro SS, Mustang GT, 3.8 R Genesis Coupe, hell you can even get a used 2008-2010 Porsche Cayman S with less than 30k miles for low $30ks.

Sometimes people forget, the main reason this car is appealing to us, is because it's low entry level price of mid 20s, so it can be modded as we go. The moment you go over 30k, you crossed a line where is no longer a good idea.

So it's not coming to the US and only 250 of both are being made. Cool

1 word describes my feelings about this:

Disappointment

In my opinion this is completely f_cking stupid. Charging over 10K and you dont even get a small bump in HP. Soooooo glad I did not wait on this, my 10K will be better spent on my own aftermarket parts that will get me actually horsepower in addition to brakes/wheels/and aero parts.

I'm guessing that the facelift will be for model year 2015. I'm honestly kinda shocked that it's coming so quick...more like annoyed because I would've waited on buying if it was going to come this quick. The only comforting thought is that the 2013 release will be the cheapest one with all the new "add-ons" and subsequent price hikes.

Would be odd and hope not since I'm getting a 2014 soon. I would think 2016 model (late 2015) as it seems a bit pointless for a facelift due to its popularity. Normally the facelift is to be a shot in the arm for slow sales. Who knows though.
