Not sure whats stopping thieves from peeling them off.

effing canadians get shafted because the lack of competition, knowledge and government regulation.
Which dealership is this? If it's Charlesglen Toyota then you and I have very similar problems. If not, then all of Calgary's Toyota/Scion dealerships must be conspiring against providing quality customer service. I'm honestly surprised at the lack of integrity these dealerships have. It's all just a money grab for them regardless of worksmanship or salesmanship or the effort it takes for them to keep your business. Boycott dealerships man, until some sort of proper regulation can be put onto them. It should be illegal to give an improper quote, complete the job (whether it's ordering the car in or repairing it) then throwing on additional fees for whatever they didn't include in the original quote. Let's just say after dumping in $4000 worth of repairs into my car for a simple 'grinding' in the front wheels, exhausting all possible options according to Charlesglen, took my car to a friend for a second opinion. Turns out cv and transaxel replacement is all that it needed over rotors/pads/rear drums/hubs/both bearing replacements/alignment/balancing/new rims and tires. Very surprised the 'experts' at the dealership couldn't figure this out, which is what's yielding me from considering a purchase of any future car from them.

Sorry for the rant. Just needed to vent, and also curious to see if our problems are coming from the same stealership... Wouldn't be surprised if so.

I turned from DRL to headlights and the scion dash logo did its light up routine (while driving).
First time I noticed it doing it, thought it was only when door was opened.

I played with the lights a lot last night (for the very first time...discovered the leveling knob for the HID's too)...and yes the blue Scion logo kicks on when you change your headlamp setting. Toggle from one to the other and you can make it light up on demand.

Personally, I think it's incredibly cool that you can run just the DRL's at night. Or the DRL's with the amber lights. Stealth modes.

Here is my research so far into the LED situation. I said I would keep you guys posted. If this was my Celica, I would have finished this already and hacked everything up.

have you unplugged the cable and looked at the headlight assy... the 2 pins are also missing there... so unless you open the headlights up, adding the low powered 12 volt to the harness won't yield anything...

You are right Luis_GT, our cars do not have LED low mode.

Before:

After:

All I used is two diodes. I didn't get to shrink wrap and clean it all up yet. Fully reversible if the car needs to go in for servicing.

Two diodes in parallel between pins 1 and 5 did the trick. Diodes are used to prevent the HID ballasts from turning on when the DRLs turn on.

Well... that's a damn simple solution... but are the led's in low mode of or high mode with the headlights on?
