Yes, I understand people's concerns regarding the device. I contemplated it myself. Like I said, the only reason I got the device is because the car is driven roughly 500 miles per month.

On a side note, I have 2007 Z4 M Coupe with 7,000 miles on it with a disconnected battery. Sits with an inch of dust on it in the garage. At the time, such devices were not available, perhaps it is a prime candidate for the car that's truly rarely used.

Mine was not in the FR-S.

I recieved a letter from state farm about this about a month ago...
First thought was: Its a trap!
so I just ignored it, put it in the same bin i put college ads and used toilet paper, and hoped the agent would never mention putting that in-drive sh1t on my car when i go pay my bills...there is a reason I didnt buy an FWD corolla or a 2000 LeSabre...

On a side note, I wouldnt mind making your Z4M more useful and saving that beautiful machine from being harassed by insurance companies
Consider it an act of gratitude on my part

Screw the electronic over-watching nannies, put that crap on your second car if you have one and lower the insurance rates on that car so you can afford the FR-S. Why drive a sports car if you have to baby it for a time of its life, enjoy it while you can.

I was kind of surprised by my rate going down coming from a Corolla. Pleasantly surprised, but, surprised nonetheless.

Funny story - when I called my insurance to switch my policy to my FRS, the agent was somewhat aware of the nature of the vehicle. Enough to say "those are nice cars, I bet they can get pretty fast, right?" ....Awkward silence.... "so about that VIN number?"

In my opinion anyone that gives their insurance company access to everything you do with your car is a damned fool. Unbelievable how little some people care about their privacy.
