Exterior led strip courtesy light?

Has anyone though about doing this or has done it? Like have a led strip on the exterior underneath the car by the door and wire it to the done light. Not sure if it'd be tacky or look good. Pics and or opinions would be awesome. Thanks!

I did that in my wife's trunk. Mustang trunks have terrible lighting. The LED strips are dirt cheap on ebay and weather proof. Coated in rubber. As long as you protect the leads going into the door card and use a very solid tape/adhesive, this would work well. I have a lot of LED left over, maybe I'll try it. Get a small controller as well so you can change the color and pattern if you care to.

I have these same LED's around the steps on my back deck, been there for three years now without issue.

Oh wow that's awesome. Wonder if it can be done. Well I'm sure it can be but if it'll look good or not. I want them to illuminate the ground so I'm sure there is a decent spot to stick em on to. Wire to the done and it'll slowly fade out which is what I want. I wouldn't need to change colors. Just white would be good
