According to a recent report, Toyota has axed plans for a turbocharged GT 86 and a GT 86 Convertible.
Details are limited but Automotive News is reporting the company thought the models would be too expensive to develop given their limited sales volumes. The news comes as a bit of a surprise as Toyota recently introduced the FT-86 Open concept at the Geneva Motor Show. At the time, Toyota said the concept was created to "gauge reaction to [the] possible development of a cabriolet version of the GT 86 sports coupe." They also said the GT 86 was always envisioned to be offered as convertible so it was equipped with "frameless doors" and a rigid structure early on in the development cycle. The rumored cancellation of the turbocharged variant is also a letdown as Toyota GT 86 chief engineer Tetsuya Tada previously confirmed a high-performance variant was going to be introduced later in the car's lifecycle.

HTC One Batt life will not be sufficient for me I can already tell. It will come down to MAH's I need 3000+ no matter how good battery life management is anything below that will never work imho. Gnex is horrible battery life wise, juice defender application helps it. The Motor x qill be unique when it comes to its antennas as that will be a major factor in battery life.

putting the FRS vert would directly pit it against the Miata in the roadster segment. Thats an already tough market. (IMO i think Toyota still could have pulled it off successfully)
If they did ax the vert, im sure its because their market analysis threw some red flags.

I'm still skeptical on it. Is Left Lane news even reputable to acknowledge for cars?

Battery life is good. You just need to adjust some settings. When I got mine it was pretty much setup to drain the battery as fast as possible. I average 2 days on 1 charge, and I use it a good amount. |

Have you got the upgraded battery? Samsung Canada won't sell it here but it's on the US website. It's the same, or within 50 mAh as the S3. Like 1850 to 2300 or 1800 to 2350 or something.

maybe the twins sold too well? they could be worried they already depleted their niche market, so the convertible will have to come 5+ years down the line when people are starting to trade in right before their warranty expires. idk just a guess.

No, it must remain thin! And the Samsung battery was hideously expensive last I check.

Also heard of an aftermarket 10000+ mAh internal battery/backplate combo. I imagine that would be fat.

Sister is running the 2100mah Unit, same thickness as stock unit and it adds a little bit more juice on the galaxy nexus
