Thanks JD. Yes there is some rubbing on full lock, I inspected it again today on the hoist & really should have taken a picture. But it is very minor and not doing any damage. I'm trying to get on top of nvh this week, firstly removing 1 mount/bushing at a time, but I think it will result in going back to oem flywheel tomorrow.

Oh and Lee told me you were first customer worldwide!

Anyway I had a couple of minor issues with the kit, specifically there is an exhaust leak in my headers, and it was suspected that being one of the early ceramic coatings that it would flake off over time. During the install yesterday S-Technic (my workshop) noticed the leak, got a hold of AVO and they offered to replace the headers for free, which also means I get a new ceramic coating. I thought there would be a little delay getting that out to me, but AVO has just rung me up and told me there is one on a truck from Melbourne headed my way now. I'll change that over when I plug in my boost controller next week!

Sorry just to clarify... The AVO kits had issues with the ceramic coating on the first run. They sorted it out but a couple of the early adopters found that the ceramic coating flaked off in spots. I have not experienced this myself, and should skip it all together with the replaced headers. New customers should not experience this at all, and if you do AVO has been very good about fixing the problem for those that have issues.

I'm hoping to have the same nice treatment for my leaks.....

Lee has been an absolute legend throughout the whole process. I've been talking with them since about September last year in regards to the kit. It helps that the garage I used for the install has a really good relationship with AVO as well.

Also I definitely have the dimmer working on my AEM gauge, and it's tied in to the dimmer switch for the dash panel. The blue writing was a bit of an optical illusion from the lighting conditions early on Thursday morning and my sunglasses (my bad). But the gauge changes brightness with the head unit when I turn on my headlights. I'm spliced into the purple wire on the dimmer control.

My car might have a slightly different wiring from yours though, given that I have a toyota GT, but it should line up closely with the Scion at the very least.

I figured it was time I posted a few new photos of my baby looking amazing. Just got her back from being detailed and coated with ceramic paint protection. Look at her all shiny.

Ok I have my car back and there is no vibration from the shifter. There is a noticeable increase in tyre roar, but that's to be expected given the extra width I've thrown on in all four corners. I am running a lot less in the way of mounts, bushings and braces than you though.

Damn it, should have got the kit in a lot earlier hahaha. I knew I was early in the list. I had my deposit down within hours of them opening and I had my kit when everyone was asking about the ETA of the first batch. I also was first on the list for Greddy turbo kits once upon a time. I had a blind deposit down for one last August (before I had even ordered the car)... But they dragged their feet and the AVO kit looked like a better solution tucked away underneath.

Thanks mate. Haven't forgotten about you... They took a little longer than expected with the detailing as I found a minor dent before taking it in and got them to fix it. Picked her up today but was enjoying driving her too much to take too many photos.

Not a problem. My car is currently at Fensport (the UK AVO agents) having the turbo and new exhaust fitted. I will be fitting the AEM gauge when I get my car back at the end of the week. Have you worked out how you are going to set up the fail safe yet?

JD 1, TRD Door stabilisers 0!!!

So going back to the bloody TRD door stabilisers... I had a win. I got the stripped bolt out, cleaned the thread up with a tap and realigned the stabiliser so my door closes properly again.
Does anyone know where I can get replacement bolts from or the part numbers? I've been to a couple of local bolt suppliers and they're quite an unusual item. I have countersunk M8x1.25 bolts in the right length... But I can only get black not the zinc or high tensile once.
Oh and when I say I stripped the bolt... I really stripped the head of the bolt. This was once upon a time a torx head bolt.

Went for a play last night with guys from the West Australian 86/BRZ club.

There's some fast cars coming out in WA. Perth is home to sprintex superchargers who have developed the innovative supercharger with intercooler kit. There's 5 of them running around Perth that I know of and they're quick... But my car can keep up with them ;-) Really need to get the car properly tuned though. We've also got a Greddy BRZ in the club, haven't had a chance to play with him just yet but I'm looking forward to it.

This morning we did a meet with the Perth Honda club and a run through the hills. I'm not a big car club person but I do enjoy the cruises. There was quite a few photographers floating around this morning as well and my car got a bit of love.

Hey mate, apologies I'm still sorting through some issues with the car. No I haven't figured out the failsafe yet. To be honest though I don't think that feature will be necessary on your car. You're running ECUtek boost control right? You should have a boost cut built into the tune which will do something very similar to the failsafe.

I'll flick up some photos and videos soon. The weather has been crap so I haven't been able to have my car outside to work on. Just need to finish up a few other things on the car then I'll snap them for you.

I suppose I should give this a quick update... This week hasn't been smooth sailing. I had a track day on Monday which I was using as a shakedown for the car just to see how it is behaving. There is a bit of an issue which we are still trying to diagnose. During fast cornering and on acceleration, there's a bit of a spluttering/dragging noise coming from the engine bay which worries me. No one seems to know what it is, but when it's happening I'm loosing power.
Hopefully it's minor but we'll see.

Had it on the Dyno today trying to diagnose the above mentioned issue and the results are below. I'm not sure how I feel about these yet, will let everyone make up their own mind. I think it shows the potential, but I was expecting a little more. The positive is I know there are issues and they're scheduled for fixing next week and I'm only just running 4psi.

Power Mods for Dyno;
Cosworth Panel Filter
AVO Stage 1 Kit
AVO base map
Motive Overpipe and highflow Cat
Kakimoto cat back exhaust

First Map is direct comparison between turbo and non turbo. Second map is the turbo run with boost (Running 4psi of boost).

At least this explains why the car hasn't felt that much faster. I'm hoping there is lots to come.

Here is some wiring advice for you.

So this is the dimmer panel I have, don't know if yours is the same but pull that out with a trim panel remover (something thin broad and flat should pop it out if you dont have one).

Behind this you can see I currently have the green wire on hand for easy access as I haven't found where to wire it in. The grey wire I've spliced to the purple wire for dimming (it works for me)

Just around the side between the door and the dash there is another panel you can pop out. I have my USB tucked in here for easy access. The steel plate that's in there is grounded. So I've attached the black and blue wires there (the blue wire isn't necessary as it's part of the data logger circuit, but I've grounded it anyway). To ground them I've crimped them both into a little ferrule and placed that behind the screw you can see there.

Red wire is a little more difficult. I've run it all the way around to my cigarette lighter/accessory charger which for me is in the centre console. But I've found this turns on with the ignition and off when you take the keys out, so perfect for me. It's just difficult to splice there without removing the whole centre panel.

Boost as discussed you need to T off the brake booster or put a vacuum manifold in there and push the wire inside the car. Lambda AFR etc you should have welded the bung in to the exhaust and fed the cables into the car.

Hope this helps.
