I am looking at the Perrin 2 inch or 4 inch replacement antenna for my car. Has anyone on here installed any of these and can give me an idea of the reception quality? I like the look of the 2 inch, but I have a feeling the reception on the 4 inch will be much better.

I have the same concern about my Beat-Sonic sharkfin due in Thursday. The stock 7" antenna works so well that I'm guessing anything physically or electrically shorter won't do nearly as well but don't have any specs to compare.

Searching Cars.com within a 500 mile radius of Chicago, I see 20 vehicles with the magical price of $29,430, which signifies a plain AT 10-series. Interesting.

I have spent the past 3 hours searching online for a "Y" cable that allows my ipod touch to be connected to the USB and aux input in the car. I am using my old BMW "Y" cable right now and although it charges my ipod, and allows me to play music, I can't control the music through the pioneer deck. I have to find the songs on my iPod-- which, is dangerous so....

Does such a cable even exist? (and yes I searched the forum to no avail)

Your ipod touch doesn't work with a simple USB cable? what gen is it? my ipod classic works with just a random ipod cable and I can control it from the radio... However my ipod photo doesn't register under USB devices...

Color me confused but which head unit do you have? If you are connected via USB, then the 2014 HU automatically gives you Ipod Control as well. Not sure I understand wht you would need to also use the aux input.

In my experience, every car I have owned used a "Y" cable for iPod control. Aux input portion of cable transmitted music, usb portion trickle charged iPod. At the other end, the 30 pin connector plugged into the iPod.

Also-- the 10 Series FRS in Canada comes with the base/stock Pioneer deck. There were supply issues here in Canada. I am getting the new deck when the 2014 models become available-- a peace offering if you will from the dealership for my discontent over the misrepresentation of the head unit here in Canada.

So, I guess that is why you are confused. I'm in stock radio land and didn't know that a regular white iPod cable is all I need. I used to drive german cars exclusively and they all have their own "Y" cables that are coded to work only with their vehicles.

I have a 3rd or 4th gen iPod touch. I bought it in 2011. I will report back. (This is news to me... I wondered why my car didn't come with a cable when all my other cars did...)

EDIT: Just wen out to my car and used a regular old white iPod cable... charges my iPod and allows control of iPod through stock head unit. Let's pretend that I knew how to do this all along... hahaha. Thanks guys!

It might be worth it to double check them. A few add ons could push the manual price up to that. I would still check each one to make sure.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, there's an MT 10 series by me for $30,165. So, if you want to, check and make sure they're all AT's!

Picked up mine on Monday

#0909 here in the bay area. Manual. Only option installed is fog light.

Wonder if it's possible to simply add a GPS antenna to enable the navigation function on the standard head unit.

Also notice temp set at 72 without AC or circulation on is quite warm. My friend who owns a Prius also agrees the air blown in is too warm. Is it only me or it's true to all other FRS 10?
