Makes sense. If we did not have a minivan, I would probably not be driving a BRZ...

Yeah I don't think I would have the BRZ as my only driver car. My GF test drove both, the Forester and the Crosstrek XV, she went for the Crosstrek. Both seem very solid, granted with less creature comforts than the competition.
You should've just kept the BRZ as your fun car and buy the forester. The BRZ/FR-S will be a hot market in couple years, I really think they will retain their value very good. In 2-3 years, the market will be flooded by kids trying to get their hands in used BRZs that are stock so they can mod them. Dealerships know that there is no better deal in used cars, than fast moving "hot" cars that young kids want, those are the ones that are desperate and willing to accept ridiculous markups and financing deals in order to get one. |

That's too bad, but the new Forester is really a good SUV, no BS. I mean hell, it gets the same gas mileage basically!

Yep, life is short, try out as many cars as you can. The difficult part is not getting sentimental about past cars. I can already tell the FR-S will be a hard one to let go if/when the time comes for me.

Sports car or coupe isn't for everyone...when your life changes you learn whether you are a [insert car type here] fan or whether you quickly use the change as a reason to move on. It's not just true for cars, it works for post-secondary education, career paths, condos/house, etc. At least you got to try it.

Wait I was told that since I am still paying off the FRS, technically the bank still own my car. So I am not able to trade or sell my car once I have completed paying it off.

Dealers and banks will bend over it if means selling you another car. Don't worry you can sell it anytime as long as the loan is paied, even if it's by another loan at the time of purchase.

Nonsense. If you trade in the car the dealer will pay the outstanding loan. Dealers love trade-ins they make money on both ends as well as the car you are buying.

they sure do. I know people that trade their car in with maybe 10k owed and the dealer pays off that amount to sell you the car. Called being upside down but it can still land you a new car.
