Even the V-6 is a helluva buy at $23k. It's pushing over 300hp, 13.7 second 1/4miles and it does damn well on the track. All the while getting decent fuel economy(19/29).

I don't know what the collective FR-S fan base is expecting this car to get fuel economy wise, but does it REALLY matter? Just looking at the numbers, I drive my vehicles a combined 10k miles per year.

If the FR-S averages 20mpg over 10k miles and gas averages $4/gallon, I'm spending $2000 a year on gasoline.

If the FR-S averages 25mpg over 10k miles and gas averages $4/gallon, I'm spending $1600 a year on gasoline.

Do you expect to average over 25mpg in the FR-S? I hope not. Will spending an extra $400 a year, $8 a week for gas break the bank? I hope not, but if so maybe a Yaris is more up your ally.
I'm really hoping they push the FR-S into getting.. 28-32mpg. Would be really really nice. Lol Hell it'd be amazing if it pushed 30-32!

Are you talking 28-32 city driving or highway? lol

The new Impreza's FB20 that is being raved about because of it's efficiency is only getting 27mpg city and only 148hp.

If I get 20mpg without changing my driving habits around town, I'll be satisfied. Still almost doubles both of my cars and is an improvement over my V8 Tundra that's getting 14mpg. lol

27 city seems quite good compared to most cars, but I guess cars these days are all heavy so that's not a surprise.

back on topic, my mom's Honda Pilot hit 100k last week. 100k of gas guzzling >2 ton goodness. You guys seem to have such old cars lol, I guess that's how an enthusiast forum would be though. Over where I live, most people probably don't know what maintanence is, they just know you take it to the dealer to do something and get ripped off, and then get a new car when you're tired of it.

..i hope you guys know that the 170hp/170tq - FB25 in the states gets 20/27mpg rating on a SUV that weighs 3400lbs with AWD..

and the 148hp/144tq FB20 in Europe gives 35mpg highway on the same Forester.

Also they get it without direct injection or AVC....

I dunno...if you ask me....thats still pretty damn good...which gives high hopes for the 200hp flat-4 thats going to be in the FT86 economically.

Needs more! lol With direct injection I'm still hoping it hits at LEAST 27-28 CITY. lol. I'd be freaking ecstatic!

I tend to glide a lot when I drive, so I hope I can get at least 32 mpg highway on the FR-S. My Accord is rated to get 27 highway, but I got 33.2 mpg the last time I filled up .
