Yeah it's super easy. You just have to remove the DRL relay and jump two off the terminals with a wire.
However running the DRLs at night is illegal and unsafe as they will blind other drivers. The DRL light pattern is ver similar the that of high beams.

Can you elaborate on this? Why is it illegal, my Lexus runs DRL at night. They don't run full 12v they dim to not be super bright. The euro/Jdm ones do the same they dim while headlights on.

It is illegal because it will shine in to people's eyes. Some cars do keep them in but either adjust the optics to aim them differently or dim them. What is your source for thinking the JDM/euro ones dim? If this is true I'd like to see the wireing diagram and know what the voltage is dropped to. It wouldn't be hard to replicate but I don't know why they wouldn't just come that way. Pretty sure our cars just use a JDM/euro/BRZ harness

Take a look at these 2 threads.http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1012406
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ghts+plug+play

In that 2nd thread Moto-P states that there is a Green wire for LED low (12v + 0.5w mode), and a white wire for LED high (12v, 3.3w mode).

And he states that operator of the lights work as follows:
Parking lamp on = Low LED light up.
Headlight on = HID Low beam + Low LED light up.
High beam = HID Low and HIGH should now be lit with bulb relocated by actuator into the proper position inside the projector+ LOW LED lit.
Flasher = HID should power with actuator in high beam mode, and upon releasing the High mode LED also flashes for a split second (latter if the headlight is on)
DRL with all light switches in Off and with car in Reverse or Drive Gears, and parking brake down, engine on = DRL mode LED should be lit with full 5.5w really bright.

You can tell when you see videos of GT86 that they dim compared to during the day. I haven't gotten my 10 Series yet, so I am unable to look at the harness to see if it differs from the Euro/JDM one.

We're SoL... our headlight assy only came with 6 of the 8 pins, so even if we find the low powered 12v cable we won't be able to plug it to the headlight.

Ah darn, thanks for the info Luis. So someone at Scion North America made a design decision on it being 6pin instead of the 8 lol.

Its still the 8 pin plug, but they removed the pins from the assy itself, only possible way I could think of getting the low powered led strips outside of ordering the Euro headlights is to open the headlight up and add the missing wire and pin...

There are pins missing from the headlamp plug itself? Now that's dumb. Seems like it would have been much cheaper to just use the actual euro lights rather than generate another work process to ensure we don't get the two wires we need

There has to be some kind of potential legal product liability issue somewhere in North American for them to go to the trouble of making anything different than EU parts.

Has anyone plasti dipped their wheels? I'm kind of curious to see what different colored wheels look like with this paint. That and clear side markers. Debating if I want to buy them.
