Sorry Subaru BRZ fans, nothing new on the BRZ side of things.
Really? So the curb weight isn't new? Read it the first time...

There will be no pricing announcement because if you go to scionfrst86.com FAQ one of the questions is "when will final pricing be available?" and the answer is "Spring 2012."

That's a huge time period for an announcement...
Thanks for the info.

2,762lbs......hmmmm looks like my prediction when this whole ship sat sail is coming true of it being close to 2800lbs. I only missed it by 38lbs. Lot of "no it won't be" came out after that post...

Anyone else surprised about the pig weight for the BRZ?

I guess the optioned out model is expected to weigh more, but there has to be some US safety fat on there.

I guess it depends on whether low CoG or low weight is more important. This is still the lightest RWD coupe you can buy for under $25,000 (tentative).

In today's hyper-safe multi-airbag/ABS/ESC/TPMS/IIHS/NHTSA vehicular context, it's relatively lightweight. The almost 2 foot shorter front-drive MINI hefts similar poundage.

Well at least we have confirmation on what the differences between the Premium and Limited provide.

It's low weight for a RWD for sure. But I did think it would be around 2800lbs initially, and then the media coverage was lifted and everyone started posting sub 2600lbs, but I guess that only applies to the JDM/EU/AUS models.

Few interesting tidbits that are either new or I missed completely previously (BRZ specifically):

- automatic transmission with sport mode
- HID headlights on all models
- Limited has keyless access & start
- DAVCS?
- Traction control with five settings
- est. weight 2762 lbs.

We also don't know if the 2,762 Lbs. is "dry", "unladen", "curb". How does Toyota/Scion/Subaru typically advertise their weights....dry?

Curb weight is always how Toyota lists their weights. That's the exact way you pick the car up from the dealer.
