nope. where I am there were 2 Subaru dealerships within 100 miles and the one I bought mine from just packed up and moved to another state. Also when I was ready to buy there were 0 FRS's available in the 20 Scion/Toyota dealerships within 50 miles. I Didn't have many options.

If you don't want 2014 model, there should be 2013 model at that time where you can get a better deal.
Interesting. I'm not in a huge hurry to purchase so this sounds pretty good to me. I'm guessing there won't be too many changes for 2014 but it makes sense there will be some good deals on the leftover 2013's.

That fee is inflated. I used to sell cars. The doc fee should be printed on the contract it self. So u can ask them to see a blank contract and u will be able to see the doc fee. Its usual in the area of 200-300. Also scion dealers by me are giving 1000 off msrp so see if they can work with you. I ended up going with a brz 1) because i like the rarity factor and the headlights are so sexy 2) because later on it will hold its value better.

Also alot of dealers will charge u a window etch fee. My dealership did but this is negotiable. So if they try to charge u this fee tell them ur not paying.

Also don't be afraid to walk away and leave the dealership. They will call you.

I went to go look at a brz by me and it was the last one on the lot. Premium DGM w/ factory fog lights ( I really wanted the fogs). After some back and forth the sales man came to me with a paper showing there invoice on this brz ( 25,680). It had wheels locks, fogs, and bumper applique. I told them ill give them 25300. He said he couldn't do it and I thanked him for his time and informed him that if the limited brz I was going to go look at at another dealer didn't work out I'll be back. Less then 3 minutes down the road I get a call from the salesman saying they will do it for 25300.

Long story short don't let them bully u. They will talk the hype and rarity of the car but at the end of the day they will sell the car even if they make 100 off of it. Cars that sit on the lot for extended periods of time end up costing the dealer money so they want to move their inventory asap. I hope this help you out a little

Would you clarify what was the dealer fee? Are those mark up or add items from dealer?

Probably just a markup. Mine came equipped with some add ons too but the 1k dealer fee was a separate ordeal. Honestly it didn't bother me too much because they still gave me the best deal for my FR-S considering they offered significantly more for my trade in than the other dealers so it more then made up for it.

Scion's fixed pricing doesn't give dealers much room, so they tack on a bunch of be dealer options like paint protection, door guards, etc so the can pad the sale.

I've noticed many dealerships are going the pure pricing route for new and used cars.

Its depend on the dealer in my experience buying the car 2 week ago i bought it 27,590 OTD with premiun bespoke radio led drl light kit and rear lip spoiler when i saw the paperwork they already discount 4000 gram on the card so i took it from them good service too, my benefit was that they had a special for a AT Raven I called and tell them i want that same car with all option and that price but on manual and they found it lol

No markup, no extra parts. Just the 10 series.

When I purchased in April there was $3k tacked on as "adjusted market value". All dealers in this area do it if the car is hard to get. We also have a huge seasonal snow bird season and I've seen a Honda dealership try to add $5k to Civic's in the winter months. Some people don't fight that and will pay it.

The dealer didn't even bat an eye when I said I wasn't paying it.

Indeed, but I don't believe Scion has "fixed pricing". From what I've read, dealers are free to set their own price, but once they advertise a price that is the price you will pay for it. In other words, they are promising no hours of haggling down the price. Saturn was previously famous for this pricing policy.

Dealers shouldn't need to pad the sale if the posted price is MSRP. That is, unless they are trying to cash in on the rarity of the car. Otherwise, I believe they are still free to play games with the value of a trade-in, etc, to get you to buy from them.

$399 tint, $499 fog lights & $699 dealer processing and documentation fees. Ridiculous.
