It is no accident that fire extinguisher signs are in red, fire trucks are red, ambulances use red lights, bees and wasps are black and yellow, etc. Humans are animals with great colour vision, and red simply jumps out at you.

Red is an attention grabber. Red tail lights flare up to let us know that the car ahead of us is stopping. Red traffic lights/stop signs are a clear indication to stop.

Now. Imagine if you will, a cop looking to fill his quota for the month. He sees a sea of white, black, silver and beige cars moving along. Suddenly, a red FRS joins the flow of traffic. It stands out. You better believe that the cop is looking at the sudden appearance of a red car amongst traffic, and has diverted a few seconds of his attention to it. He tries to figure out if it's a Ferrari or some other exotic, then he notices the hellaflush and stickers, and its all over for you.
I'm sorry but this is nonsense. Is been proven time and time again that the whole red car thing with cops is a myth.

I myself have a Firestorm FR-S. I love the color, the red turns heads and is amazing when clean. You notice scratches here and there, my first pic was Asphalt but the Firestorm changed my mind when I saw it in person. Hopes this helps

The FR-S I test drove was a red and I was impressed with the colour of it. I really wanted an Ultramarine though. After seeing the red in person, it was prob my second choice.

I drive a Firestorm, so it goes without saying I'd pick the Firestorm. I personally don't like the shade of the whiteout color. I also feel like the red make the cars features, body lines, ect. stand out more. I'm only 16 and have had my license for +/- 8 months, but this is not my first red car. My last car was a Passion Red (Very close to Firestorm) Volvo S60 R 6M/T. I drive 1-1.2.5k miles monthly and knock on wood, I have never been pulled over with either car. As long as you're not doing anything wrong, I don't see you getting singled out/pulled over, let alone actually given a ticket.

Between the two, I like the whiteout better. Firestorm to me was a little disappointing. All the other colors seem to have some metallic to them except firestorm, which is just plain red. With a name like firestorm, I expected something more, at least a metallic clear coat like on my raven. But to each his own, if you like firestorm, then go for it. I'm sure you'll be happy either way.

If I was going to buy a Ferrari, it would have to be red. I wouldn't settle for anything else. That's the only car(s) I can think of that I prefer red though. When it comes to our cars, I think black is the best, hands down. White looks really tasteful and refined, I think, but I also prefer and wish it was just regular white instead of pearl. The WRB blue color is awesome too.

All that being said, this:

That being said, don't worry about what other people think. If everybody got really serious about what everyone else thought, no one would ever do anything because for every action there's an equal and opposite hater.

I just watched a show on Discovery (Mind Games) where they tested the perceptions of people vs actual events.

They had a lady in a white dress walk along a busy street, seeing how many men turned their heads to look at her. Maybe 3 men looked over the course of an hour. The same lady wore a red dress (same type of dress) and the difference was dramatic - nearly five or six times as much attention was paid to her.

Same actress, same type of dress, different colour. They did more experiments with different situations - borrowing $1 from people, asking for help across a street. The difference was dramatic in all cases.

They also did experiments with MMA fighters wearing differently coloured training gear, colour of our food affection taste, etc.

I do not accept the statement that red cars receive no more and no less attention from cops than white cars do. You can argue statistics or equality or whatever, but it is wired into us to notice red and react to it depending on the context. Does this all make sense?

@Anthony I agree that the black looks great, but I'd just never buy a black car. It shows EVERYTHING

Indeed it does. My current car is a satin-ish matte black... even worse. Looks mean as shit though, and that's all that counts.

...to me.

@Anthony I have to agree. There's also alot of mods that only a black car can pull off correctly. For example, an unpainted CF hood. No color car can pull it off as nicely as a black one.

I'm seriously thinking about getting a red one and then just trying to upgrade the bits to make it more gt86 ish. I hate this thread. I had finally "settled" on a series 10 but this thread reminded me how bad I wanted the red one.

Get it dude. You're gonna like it.

I've seen both colors in person and in my opinion, the red is too extreme. I narrowed my choices down to the ultramarine and whiteout but, in the end I got the whiteout. I think white is the perfect color on this car :/

Also, if you smoke the taillights, paint the headlight housing black, and get some carbon fiber... it would look awesome on the white one.

I was in the same position a couple weeks ago when shopping around for the FR-S. I really liked the Firestorm and it looks even better in person. At the end of the day I went with whiteout simply because I felt it showed the lines of the FR-S the best when compared to the other colors. You really cant go wrong with either tho. I love my whiteout FR-S tho!
