The car I'm buying has OEM mud flaps as well. They'll be for sale when I get home (in late November) if you're not in a hurry and want some used ones.

Check again, that is British usage, like colour, flavour, advertise.... etc... (also, for some strange reason, Canadian usage).

And Midwestern. English wasn't my major though but I think I'm right in at least half of the English speaking world

@regal it's funny you mention playing on dirt/gravel roads because we're about to announce a new t-shirt (and poster?) featuring that very thing. I'll see if I can post a teaser...

I'm from the sticks, and my Rallyarmor flaps have performed flawlessly when I go back home. Limestone rock roads, pea gravel, etc. Don't stick out much, either, pretty inconspicuous. Asphalt w/black guards, blue lettering.

Sticks. It's actually an American phrase in origin, "out in the sticks," and the Styx etymology is incorrect.
