My 350z didn't have push-start. If you want that feature, just make one.
Its not just a basic push start they I want, its the proximity unlock\lock with push start.

I am hoping it will be a option.

I want to be able to walk up to my FR-S, open the door, get in, put on my seat belt and then push the start button, all with the FOB in my pocket. It's convenient.

And now since I can tweet, post on facebook and even post on this forum with my voice while I am driving in my FR-S! Golden!

LOL!

Is not the second decade in the 21st century grand?

The 80's were so long ago....good riddance!

Yeah right, you don't know bro. Could still be an option.

We did not know about the standard Pioneer Bespoke system till today. So anything is possible.

Push a button on the key...done. Call me old fashion, but when you start adding electronics it equates to just another opportunity to fail point.

lol I love how the push start thing is still being talked about even till today, please just release the options list today so that it will carify everything. So both sides of the equation can be quiet and be nice to eachother again. I don't know about you guys but Im not sure if it's the photoshoped picture or if it's true but I really didn't like those black housing. I would love it if they just have the normal 86 lights, not the low spec lights but the normal ones. Too bad they don't have a barebone option thing seems like stuff I have to pay for and never use are on this car.

I think everyone has a word filter on the word option or something. Everytime someone wants a luxury or convenience item as an OPTION there's a group of people who just have to post negatively about it. Options are great, it's lets you get WHATEVER YOU WANT without being forced to take crap you don't.

You're right. They could still be options, but let me tell you why I don't think they will be.

Lighting is a heavily regulated area of a vehicle. Cost to offer multiple headlights would outweigh the potential revenue made by selling them.

Headlamp washers add no value to the FR-S relative to how it is being positioned.

Digital climate control - price, price, price.

When I said that those features were left on by mistake, I was making an educated guess. Yeah, I work for Toyota Canada, but I'm not involved in Scion USA's marketing efforts, nor do I know who was in charge of those pictures.

You might be surprised how many non-car people work at car companies; people that wouldn't notice the smaller details on a car (like the reflectors in the taillights, exhaust tips or the colour of the side-markers). I'd venture a guess that a bunch of pictures of an 86 were handed to an agency who were told to turn them into Scions. They changed the emblems on the hood, trunk and wheels, changed the rear plate - and voila, a Scion. Maybe the agency was given some creative leeway to make a "modified" FR-S, so they blacked out the headlights, taillights and called it a day.

Have a look at this one, where did the tow hook covers go? Photoshopped out! But they left the headlamp washers?

I'm just trying to manage expectations of this car. If everyone thinks this stuff is going to be available, and it turns out it's not available, people will be disappointed. I see an opportunity to prevent this, so I take it.

Believe what you want. I'd love to share everything I know about this car but I like my job too much!

I agree with everything in this post. I don't expect the Scion to have all of the options available. I posted about the headlights and the cost they'd have to pay for DOT approval which makes them an unlikely option but people didn't take kindly to that 2 months ago either

Dude the FR-S is bare bones....what more do you want taken out? Oh...i forgot the Pioneer Bespoke.....but I am with you...if it had the 86 HIDs with LED DRL's it would look perfect. I am still hoping it will be an option. If not I will order the parts.

But hey the car is still cool. We just got to get the final price and options.

We already know not everything is going to be available. But you are up in Canada and not the USA. So things could be different. But I hear you.
I am just going to be one of those who hopes they can build up a Toyota 86 out of the FR-S. If I am going to get disappointed then so be it. But I have a feeling I am going to be somewhat happy. And there is always Subaru...

Glad for your input. You rock eh!

Subaru already got DOT approval on their headlights...same headlights, just a slightly different design. But I see you point.

In any care you might see a lot of FR-S with BRZ headlights...
