Oh man. They did a new Hunter x Hunter anime? I LOVE that manga. The art style is so clean, so unique. I've watched the first 2 episodes so far, and I like it. Mad House did a great job capturing the art style from the manga. It feels like a direct translation from the story as well. Makes me want to dig the manga out of my garage.

I tried giving Majestic Prince a shot. It's awful though. I feel like it wants to be a newer take on the Nadesico style show, but it's impossible to watch. I was annoyed by all of the plot. The robots and combat at least looked cool, and I liked the designs by the Gundam Seed character designer. Overall it's not enough to get me watching it.

Majestic Prince is kinda average, but I do like the animation style. Same style as Fafner Dead Aggressor. Now that's a good Mecha show to sink your teeth into!

Hunter x Hunter is brilliant. Any fan of the earlier Naruto's will enjoy this show. Got some pretty awesome action and boy does it get messy at times.

I'm a little upset with SaO, the light novel was very epic read. especially the most recent chapter. When it was ported to anime i was a little disappointed how it was portrayed, but at the same time it was to be expected because the production of that anime anime was a condition the author wanted to allow the studio to produce accel world anime.

Seemly the author said that Accel world and SaO are actually in the same universe and he wants to tie the two together.

I hope they revisit SaO as there is still much more story to cover.
I really enjoyed both shows, but seeing them linked in any way other than revolving around online gaming seems a bit of a stretch. Even if that's what the original author wanted. As amine shows I think they both finished on a high note, but I sure would love to see second seasons for both.

Its nice to see more shows based on that genre. Its been a long time between drinks since the .Hack line of shows and Zega Pain. I think Chaos Head was gaming related too? Have not watched that one though.

Not sure what you all use to see what shows are airing each season, but I find this site quite good for both shows and figure news http://www.nekomagic.com/?cat=9

I'm reading the actual releases, the story is the same sure..but the presentation of the narrative isn't cohesive. The flow between chapters and dialog makes no sense, especially considering its genre as non-pop culture, I am ecstatic how well the manga was translated into anime. Just like how books have to be translated into screenplays.

Managed to catch up on a few shows over the weekend.

Kingdom S2 is quite good. It's a show that was initially a little slow in its first season and the art was kinda average, but the story is great. Interestingly the art has improved a few notches with the latest season. Though not quite on the same level as Hunter X Hunter I’d still totally recommend giving it a go.

Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou is a bit of an odd one, but shows promise. I like the main characters’ twisted sense of humour and how the othermain character came to be (not gonna spoil that one for anyone).

Genshiken Nidaime is great if you enjoy watching otaku’s (of various flavours) take the piss out of each other. Even more twisted than the first two seasons of the show, which I rather enjoyed.

High School DxD is great if you badly need a T&A fix otherwise it’s got a pretty loose plot. Good lord the first 30 seconds!

Hyperdimension Neptunia: The Animation is not too bad if youwant a relaxed fun sort of show. I think it was based off a popular series of Play Station games?

Blood Lad is actually pretty funny and has potential to beone of the better shows in this season. It has a wildly amusing twist on supernatural monsters and gave me a few solid chuckles seeing an Otaku Vampire!

Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi – I honestly just couldn’t getinto the first ep of this show. It’s got an interesting take on zombies I suppose, but I found it hard to like any of the characters and the story was a bit odd.

Haven't read the entire thread but have you guys seen "Samurai Champloo"? I normally don't even watch animes but recall seeing it on Adult swim about 10 years ago and decided to get the DVDs. It turned out to be a really good anime as far as the plot and commentary goes. It was more interesting than Kenshin which came out some years before Samurai Champloo.

The narrative seems okay to me, it just took me a bit to realize how the artist chose to do his time jumps. It needs a bit more notice than he gives it, and I really like how the anime handled the whole watching everyone become soldiers instead of having it be just some random flashbacks.

I feel like the artist is a novice who struck it lucky and some of the flashbacks are things he thought of to help advance the plot for ideas he's come up with later on. In the latest chapters it's definitely much better.

lol. Those arcs were so bizarre. It was like he just stopped caring about the art for his series. Usually you have stuff like Berserk where you watch Miuria go from being okay to where he is now. His art clearly improves by a LONG LONG margin. HxH did the opposite.

This season, I'm not hating all the new series... but not loving it either.
