How does this handle extreme temperatures? Does it soak up heat in the summer and make it too hot to hold?

i'va had mine on all summer and compared to other metal knobs i've had this soo much cooler. dont get me wrong it gets hot, but it doesn't get ridiculous where you can't even grab it.

It does get warm, but it will not get scalding. We use two coats of powder (base and top) to help with heat. It has been well north of 95 here the past few days and I have a black car I leave the windows up and I can still grab it.

Any metallic knob will get hot. I'm not going to lie to you. Unless you have a delrin coating on it, it'll help with heat. But even delrin knobs get hot. The difference is how fast you can get rid of the heat.

My knob is cool in about 1-2 minutes.

It's all in what you prefer. Honestly I always have a hat in the car, I put it over the knob and keep it out of direct sunlight and it is fine when I get in the car. I've seen solutions from a sunglass case (soft sock) to a kids sock to a brake reservoir cover.

I just wanted to say this is an AMAZING CAR!

Quick Question: For your aluminum splitter, what's the thickness of it?
