I have the Koyo rad with my fullblown kit. If you're going vortech, you probably have much less to worry about, but anything over 90 ambient and the car can still get pretty darn warm.

In my 10 years of selling performance parts I have had my fair share of radiator failures of both the Koyo and Mishimoto brand. The only difference is when a Koyo fails you are SOL and have to buy a new radiator. Zero warranty and support. When a Mishimoto fails they give you a new one no questions asked.

If your friend had one fail, he wouldn't have had to buy any replacement...

Just double checked with my friend–that is correct. I was mistaken. The replacements were not purchased. But having 3 separate individuals experience the quality issues and one having two brand new radiators fail within weeks of each other still reflects poorly on their products.

I've always heard to avoid Mishimoto due to quality issues, but I have no first hand experience with them, so YMMV.

Hey guys, thought I'd jump in here to help answer any questions or concerns about our products, as well as give some info about new products coming out.

To answer the OP's question, our FR-S/BRZ radiator has not been released yet, but it will be available in August! Here is a behind the scenes picture of the rad installed on the car.

We have a bunch of new and exciting stuff being released for these cars all summer, so keep your eyes open!

As always, all of our products are a direct fit with no modification necessary, and have a 100% guaranteed lifetime warranty!

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks,
Tyler

We run the Koyo unit in our car but wouldn't hesitate to run the Mishimoto either. Mishimoto makes decent stuff.

I've had 3 different friends buy Shittymoto rads and each one of them failed in only a few months of ownership (daily driven and show cars). Two friend switched over to Koyo and ARC, and have had no problems since, but a third friend went and bought a second radiator from Shittymoto only to have that one fail as well. (After a third one was put in, the car was sold, so I have no idea what the status is on that one.)

Also, almost all Mishimoto stuff used on the drift cars in Formula D are Koyo products passed off as Mishimoto (This was several years ago. Not sure about the current state of things, but wouldn't surprise me at all if it was still going on.)
I am not sure where you heard the bit about our radiators being Koyo products, but I can assure you that information is incorrect. All of our sponsored drivers run our products.

We stand behind our products 100%, and our products have proven to hold up against the test of time. We wouldn't offer a lifetime warranty if we didn't trust our products and their quality.

Thank you for mentioning this. We are very proud of our warranty and customer service, and we pride ourselves in our customer satisfaction!

Thank you for contributing to this thread and sharing the news about the new radiator.

My main question is will it fit with the Vortech kit installed? And what are the specs of the new radiator?

No problem, let me know if you have any questions regarding our products.

Our radiator will fit with the Vortech kit installed.

I will post up the specs of the radiator when it is officially released.

Excellent. I'll wait to see further developments from your side before I purchase a new radiator.

I bought a Mishimoto oil cooler kit for my previous car. The sandwich plate was a disaster. The faces were not machined flat. The center hole where the adapter goes through is not circle; the adapter rubs on one area when you turn it. I had to tap the thread in the adapter since it was not machined properly. The hex nut part on the sandwich plate adapter was bigger on the one I needed so my socket didn't fit on it. It's a good thing my dad is a machinist so he could fix everything, otherwise I would have been screwed.

General overall quality of the machined parts was sub par. I bought it because I read good things about the brand, but I will be staying away in the future.

Did you try contacting them when you noticed the issue? Curious to see how they responded.

I didn't bother because I bought it last fall and I can't do anything over the winter, so that was 8 or 9 months of it just sitting in a box. Then I didn't want to pay for shipping costs and wait a month or two to maybe get a new piece back, or they just tell me the part is fine. So I can't really help you with the warranty part of it.
