How long does PDI usually take for this car, just got word that vehicle will be arriving this week. I'm bouncing off the walls in anticipation Finally some sort of good news from Scion Canada.

Still don't know if it came with Pioneer upgrade audio.

Finally remembered to grab a picture. Figured I didn't need to upload a picture of the front since it's standard for the 10 series. Spoiler, Borla cat back exhaust, and tint can be seen from the rear.

I plan on adding a back up camera (currently a group buy going on for one from Beat-Sonic) and possibly the OEM Audio 400+ or Reference whenever that comes out. The OEM Audio guys are apparently trying to set up a demo in my area (guy I've been talking to is super nice, I'm amazed they are contacting dealerships to set up a demo for me).

From memory, Toyota pays dealers a flat rate of 1½ hours for PDI/PDS. Sounds about right for the full procedure, less if you tell them not to touch it beyond safety checks.

Congrats man! In a way I'm kinda hoping you don't get it and are able to work out a similar deal to Brently. That would be ideal (I think anyway)!

My car is at the dealership-- without the upgraded audio. I will find out tomorrow what is happening for sure: whether they are swapping out a unit that is in a car on the lot, or giving me the 2014MY upgrade in September/October. I'd be happy with either scenario.

On a side note-- Canadians really do get shafted on a regular basis it seems...

On a side note. Someone on the forum has successfully ordered 10 Series parts without proof of ownership or VIN. So much for being Limited.

Stopped by the local dealer today to have another look at the color both inside and under direct sun. Paint does look fabulous, better than it did at Long Beach. They had three FRS 10s in stock but they all had the stupid bumper damage from careless techs putting on the License plate frames. Spent some time just sitting looking at the car, fooling around inside, I had a moment when I knew it was my next car.

Btw, people not liking the light up badges are just haters. They look sooooo much better in person.

However, I am contemplating putting a darker transparent wrap over the faux silver CF though, it does not look as good as the stock black FRS panels. Sadly, due to a few mixups, my car appears to be a few weeks out still even though I ordered the day of the 10 series announcement.

Oh I wouldn't worry--- the fact that they paid $2,000.00 USD for those lights is simply ridiculous. Some people are never happy with what they have-- they just want to always have "the best".

I wouldn't spend 2 grand on anything unless it gave me a lot more horsepower. Headlights? That's completely whack-a-doo. When you go to sell the car or trade it in, nobody is going to care that the headlights were upgraded. The car won't be worth a cent more. I see it happen all the time in the auto industry (husband is in car sales, works for Toyota.)

But hey-- if you have the money-- rock on! Most FRS owners don't care enough about the 10 Series headlights because they are too busy enjoying their cars. Interesting that someone was able to order them though. Thank you for posting this!

Yeah, it really puts into perspective what you get for the extra $3k that the 10 Series cost over the standard FR-S. Also, that $2k he spent only covered the lamp assemblies themselves. In order to have them fully functional, he will have to spend another $1k+ for all of the other parts needed (that can be sourced locally from a Subaru dealer) such as the ballasts, leveling system, and the wiring harness and interior controls for them.

Looks like it will cost more to upgrade the headlights than the added cost of the 10 Series, without all the other features (keyless entry, push button start, digital HVAC, etc.) included. On top of that, he won't have warranty or insurance coverage, and (as you mentioned) it won't help the value of the vehicle either. Looking at the price of the comparable Toyota trim levels in Japan or Europe, both the 10 Series and BRZ Limited really are a great deal in the NA market.

Well, in my opinion, you are the whack-a-doo. $2000 will buy a nice set of wheels and tires. It will buy a suspension. It will buy a set of Recaros. It will buy a nice audio setup. It will also buy OEM LED/HID headlights. You only want to spend money on something that will make you go faster in a straight line? What an extremely boring, whack-a-doo way to mod this car.

Furthermore, not everyone is concerned with resale value. If so, we'd all leave our cars bone stock, because that's when they're the most desirable on the open market. We modify our cars to suit our liking, not to increase their resale value. And I can't speak for everyone here, but I plan to keep my car for years, if not decades, which renders its resale value pointless anyway. If you were truly concerned about retail value, you'd never drive your car---after all, extra miles don't make your car worth a cent more, do they?

You sound like you don't have enough money to splurge on headlights and never will, so you're just making excuses about how you're "happy with what you have" and are "too busy enjoying your car" to want anything.

Not only am I EXTREMELY happy with what I have (my only mod so far is mud flaps), I drive my car constantly (2200 miles a month average) and you know what? I'm also constantly daydreaming about how to mod it in the coming years. Those things aren't as mutually exclusive as you'd like to think they are.
