I went to NYC for the weekend to chill with some friends, and I saw a BMW S1000RR parked next to Times Square...that thing was beautiful.
Um, you are playing with the regulator?

So it was good, nearly perfect, then gained 4 minutes in a week? That's going from a couple seconds a day to over 30. That's a drastic change.

Hmmm... Did you bump it pretty hard before this?

No I am adjusting the time via the crown lol. Don't recall bumping it hard but I did bump it a few times by accident (thank god for sapphire crystal). After week 7 I stopped checking and then a month later I realized it was 4 minutes fast.

It's fine. Don't worry about it. A consistent one minute gain per week is fantastic for a $300 automatic watch. My JDM Seiko SARB033 is around there and that's an honest (zero internet discounts anywhere) $400 watch.

Figure a Grand Seiko is allowed a max of +35 seconds/week, and a Swiss COSC certified chronometer is allowed a max of +42 seconds/week. So resetting your watch every Monday, or whatever, is no big deal. Superb actually, considering the huge price differences.

As for sapphire, you're actually lucky in the sense that it didn't shatter. Sapphire is super scratch resistant, but more brittle than mineral crystal.

And about terminology, you 'Set' the time on your watch. A watchmaker can 'regulate' the balance by changing the effective spring length to advance or retard it overall. The factory 'adjusts' the balance by weight locations and spring leverage at different positions and temperatures.

dammit contractors. stop leaving.

not only do I have to pick up your slack when you leave, you're generally good folks I enjoy working with.

I mean...they could at least tell me where the money they're chasing is, or something. lol

I need 86 hours to finish my degree but doing that while working full time means its going to take forever. Im 22 right now and im going to graduate at 25 or something, its sad seeing my facebook flooded with people I graduated from high school with already done and going onto bigger and better things like masters programs and stuff. Its embarrasing and depressing.

At least you are still in college, I'm sure there are plenty of people you graduated high school with that won't ever try college.
