Calling all Southern Alabamians!

Hello! The urge of going 70mph+ on suburban street is getting a little too hard to control, and I'm getting way too tempted to poweslide at every turn. For the sake of everyone within a five mile radius of my driving, I need a place to have some fun with my FRS. There's an autocross thing near Newton, AL once a month, but I would rather a place where I can just mess about rather than do time trials (and I'm not sure how welcoming they would be of my non existent cornering skill haha). Anyone have any ideas where I can go? I live in Enterprise, AL btw.

Oh, and every mall cop in the area is on a manhunt for a certain driver of an FRS who was having a bit too much fun in their parking lot, so most private/public parking lots in use are not an option hehe

oh yeah! lol....

25/dunnavant road SE is great, you'll often run across several big boy porsches rolling through there as well. on weekends motorcycles and insanely fast cars can also be spotted. r8's, lambos, ferraris, even gt40's... a bud of mine had a house right off the side of 25 and we could just sit on his porch and see some of my favorite childhood dreams fly by.

sicard hollow is kinda nice, it connects by rex lake and grants mill road (over by barber motorsports). fun, but you have to watch out for cyclists. im all for sharing the road, but not when they are taking it up and not following any of the rules needed for their safety and especially mine. so i'll start sharing the road when they have to start paying for tax and tags on those lil bikes of theirs. lol, /end rant. still a great road!

there are several more but 25 and sicard are some of the longer ones. several small roads can be found off of them such as baily road off of sicard, insane but only about a mile and a half long. kinda like the end of akina though

Thanks! I guess I'll have to head up to those roads haha. Any drifting locations/ areas where I can let the back end do some of the steering? (e.g. large abandoned parking lots where cops won't go by)

not that im aware of... a few years ago there was u-drift in moody which was cool. but that got shut down in less than two days so the owner took it somewhere else in bama (may be closed for good now).

you were able to rent cars or drift your own. being that i had an evo drifting on that small course just wasn't going to happen, but i'll be damned if i wasn't the fastest through the cones and the only one that didn't stall or spin out of control lol.

The autoX in Newton was fun last weekend. Mine was the only FRS there. Was fun though. I need better tires. Maybe see you there next month?

I also live in Enterprise. There are tons of great county roads south of town, north of Ozark off 231, and north of Troy. Drifting would likely get you a ticket if the law saw you. Where is this autox in Newton? How do I come watch and possibly participate?
