Given the paucity of factory-size aftermarket head units, I may try to find a Toyota or Subaru unit that works. Maybe someone's Bespoke unit. ;-)

First and second to last picture will show you what it looks like with the fillers. I personally think it looks just fine. And really I'd rather have a unit that is bad ass than one that fits the whole thing. Function before aesthetics I always say.

Would be nice if someone could make a dash trim with a smaller 180mm wide opening to replace the OEM. I'm assuming it would be difficult to make/match the OEM pattern on the FR-S, so a matching trim for the passenger side dash would be needed as well.

Yeah that would be awesome. Why couldn't they just come stock with the standard size double-din!?!

As an end user, I think a wider/larger headunit is better. I would prefer that the stereo manufacturers make larger headunits rather than Toyota make smaller spaces for them. At least if they do start making larger aftermarket headunits in the near future, our cars will be able to accept them.

That's a better way to look at the problem

I changed our BeSpoke out with a Kenwood DNX9990HD. and added a back up cam. Nav is slower than what I was used to in the Lexus but still better than nothing.

Did you really bump a thread almost a year old when there's another thread next to it in this forum with all the answers?

If you're going to berate him, at least provide a link to the thread.
