boost gauge vortech help

put in an aem boost gauge today and it is reading mostly vacuum only and under WOP it reads 0. I checked to see if I am boosting through data logs and I am boosting close to 10 at red.

There is a T in the brake booster line which one hose goes to the bypass valve. I T'd off onto the hose that is going to the bypass valve and here i am with my issue.

ideas/solutions please.

The only guess I have is that you are tapping into a hose after a check valve that is not allowing the gauge to see boost.

So would you recommend that I tap into the pipe coming from the throttle body with a barb?

Get a vacuum manifold send the signal from the brake booster there, and distribute accessories from the manifold, including the gauge.

Update:

According to
Chargred86 I rerouted.

From brake booster t that vortech supplied I put the aem boost gauge hose to it. Then teed off the boost gauge hose and put the boost gauge to the new t fitting.

Boost now shows higher numbers up in higher rpms under load. Still feels like it's not showing right numbers. At about 50 percent throttle the boost is at 0

Well, maybe you can fix it easier than what I said.

Going into more detail, using a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/automotive/dp/B0018033OQ"]Vacuum manifold[/ame], you would have just teed off the brake booster line, and then use all ports provided by the manifold to provide boost signal to AEM gauge, pressure relief valve and any other components that need boost signal. that way you prevent having to do a number of tees in order to get your boost signal to all components.

Oh I see what you're saying! I'd like to stay away from purchasing that item. Ugh frustrating. I have no boost leaks too

If you are seeing any boost on it at all, then it is most likely working properly. What is the max number you see at Wide Open Throttle (WOT)?

How does the recirc/venting work on the vortech? Does it only build boost under WOT conditions, or will it build partial boost at part throttle?

Should be a simple bypass: Under vacuum the valve is open. When there is much less vacuum or 0 vacuum it closes.

The bypass valve doesn't completely close until you go WOT. Until that happens, boost is bypassed to avoid parasitic loss. You've probably noticed the sound of air venting out until you slam the gas, and then it goes away - that's what's happening here.
