1st time at the drag strip. Launch questions

Going to the 1/8th mile track tonight and had a few questions for the more experience racers here.

Is it better to launch with VSC Sport mode on or no aids at all?

What RPM should I be at when I drop the clutch?

All off. Rev up to ~4500 if on stock tires and you're stock. Don't drop the clutch, just let it out quickly.

Also, staging: come up to the box and stop when the top two lights light up and come to a stop. Wait for your opponent to do the same. Once he/she does that, then continue on to the second lights.

Be prepared for a slow time... Have fun though!

Haha, Thanks. I'm not expecting anything amazing. I frequently wring the car out on back roads and second gear pulls never cease to disappoint me. I didn't buy it for that though.

I'm going to the track with some friends who want to race their bikes, I figured I'd at least do a couple runs for the 15 dollar admission fee. Hopefully there's a stock Civic SI there, they seem like a pretty close race.
