24mpg combined. Plenty of street light "racing" and lots of weaving/heavy throttle inputs.

No, I'm not racing anyone. Just taking off from lights because I enjoy the feeling of maxing out a gear or two.

Full engine acceleration, Wide Open Throttle [ON->OFF->ON within 0.6sec] during gear shifting?

Investigation results revealed that this condition is observed during track usage, and a unique aggressive driving style, not during normal driving.

Sorry, it's funny.

If it pops, it pops.... denying warranty because one cat was replaced would be bullshit and I'd definitely never buy a Subaru again.

I'm between 20-21 mpg, AT based on fillups/mileage. street driving only in traffic, and not driving to conserve gas.

Do you guys throw it into 6th asap or keep it in 5th a lot of the time? I find that outside of the highway I usually get better gas mileage in 5th. I try to keep it between 2k and 2.5k when cruising in the city because that seems to be the sweet spot for gas mileage.

I almost never use 5th unless I'm going up a hill at 30mph. It's seemed to me the lower the rpm the better. Anything over 60mph and you're definitely losing though.

What if you have the automatic? And to be really stingy you put it into manual mode and put it straight to sixth gear? Would it even work at all? I think it normally seeks the highest gear in drive anyway.
