I can assure you there is no coating coming off of the piston in the pump, What plating IS on the pump is DLC which really just doesn't come off, especially not with fuel that you can pour into a plastic gas tank.

see my new thread "DI pump internals"

Skullworks beat me to it, can't believe I missed the "ethanol eroding coating" theory which is interesting (and plausible if somewhat silly) to say the least. Most of us are just guessing anyway.

I brought my car to the dealership today. They ordered gasket, gas pump and some other parts for my car. Will the chirping noise go away after they replace the parts ?

Because everyone that has had their pump replaced gets the crickets again.

you obviously have not read the thread, maybe 1 or two posts but there are several people who have changed the pump and still had the noise come back...several meaning most people who had the problem in the first place...and its not imediate

Fett4Real answered to your question. And your response is this? I'm guessing that you just read the first line of Fett4Real's response and didn't read the rest (which is the answer to your question).

Ethanol free does help. I've been chirp free since switching to E0 for over 5k miles now. The only time I've hard chirps in that 5k is when I've been too low to make it to my E0 pump and had to put in 1 gallon of 92 E10 to make it to the 92 E0 pump.

Every single person I've gotten to switch over to E0 has reported no chirps since.

And you don't need to send the gas off to anyone to test it, just use a pocket testing unit that most people who have boats or planes use.

So instead of someone reading through those posts they should just post the same question that has already been answered 50 times in the thread by people that weren't too lazy to read through those 2300 posts thus making even more posts?
