Wheel size has nothing to do with it; tire size does. A 215/45/17 tire will have the exact same diameter as a 215/40/18 tire (or 235/35/18 or 255/30/18).

If, for whatever reason, it just doesn't "click," TireRack lets (forces) you to choose from wheels and tires they've determined will fit your vehicle. It takes the guess work out of upsizing wheels, for newbs.
