Megan Racing Springs

I cant find any reviews on the orange Megan Racing drop springs. Does anyone have them and want to chime in?

Off the top of my head, a 1.75 inch drop up front leaves you with 0.75 inches of compression travel...and that's including the bumpstop. No. Thanks.

And, these are barely stiffer than stock so you'll be on the bumpstop constantly.

These are 146/230, FRS stock is about 128/212.

Definitely no thanks.

Get the Megan Street coils... affordable and better than springs. Thats what I'm going with.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some people cant afford expensive Coils. It depends if he's just dropping it to look low or for performance.

When I was running my 240 way back in the say, I used megan products because they were cheap and got the job done. However I have a nicer car now and will only use products that will compliment it nicely. If you are just looking for lowering springs let me know and I can work with you on a pricing that matches your budget.

This isn't really even a question about the quality of Megan products or them as a brand. You just can't lower this car 1.75 inches on a fixed perch strut and expect it to be "good." Acceptable for you on smooth roads? Maybe. But it's not going to handle well. And it's not going to ride well if there's any sort of bumps. I'd say the same if it were Swift, Tein, RCE, H&R, whatever.

If you really want that much of a drop, I'd recommend coilovers or deal with a subpar driving experience.

Subpar, boarding on dangerous.

I'm curious how much camber and toe correction would result from the much drop?

If you can't afford quality products, don't modify. End of story.

Suspension is a vital part of the safe operation of a vehicle. FUBARing the geometry and damping performance to get a look is neither wise nor safe. Low and slow doesn't hold water when you need to avoid an incident on the freeway.

Megan racing street coilovers, I found for $679. That's $170 per corner. Does that seem right for a coilover that will hold together? For comparison, the cheapest Bilsteins (B14) are $250 per corner, from a much more reputable and knoweldgeable company...based purely on safety concerns.

For that price, they will have to produce each corner for less than $170 to make any sort of profit. Are they cutting any safety corners? Why are other coilovers between $850-1000?(entry level)

These are the questions to ask when buying coilovers.

There's no reason to expect they wouldn't be safe. They shouldn't break. The difference in cost is going to be in better damping.
