Ordered! I've tolerated hyper blink for long enough now. It's kind of fun at first but it gets old.

Happy Canada day!

Mine arrived today and is installed, and it's awesome! I consider this an absolute must-have for the vehicle.

I got a little nervous at first when testing it out, because pressing the car alarm button only lit the passenger side indicators — the driver side indicators just kind of half blinked quickly and died. Turns out this will happen if you leave the stalk in a signal position with the car off and press the alarm button. Putting the stalk back to neutral corrects it.

Thanks!

Yes, thanks for pointing this out... If you leave the car parked with signal in right turn position it is set up for wig-wag. And pressing remote touches off the same line that does hazard flashes, so what you will see is just the "wag" part for the confirmation. Stalk in neutral position gives normal confirmation on both sides of the car. And to complete the picture, stalk in left (slow motion hazards) will also give normal confirmations on both sides.

My BRZ is the 1st car I've owned in decades that didn't have convenience signaling and one of the most annoying missing features. The Tap Turn flasher was a simple play and play install and a must have upgrade. This is the way the car should have come from the factory. Thank you for the great product!

But you don't need LED signals to enjoy TapTurn - it makes better use of regular bulbs too!

TapTurn is a simple plug-and-play flasher relay upgrade that adds convenience signaling. By just tapping the signal stalk you get 3 blinks in that direction, then self-cancels. Almost all new cars seem to have this feature now, but for some reason was forgotten on the twins. TapTurn was born primarily to solve this problem of omission - every car should have convenience signaling this day and age.
Some might not know that straight from the factory the twins have what I will call 'touch turn'. Press the turn signal stalk but stop short of the indent and it will flash as long as you hold it. Release the stalk and it stops.

I rented a Mitsu Lancer and sure enough it has convenience signaling.
Of course I test the hell out of it... To see how it behaves and compares to Tapturn.
The Lancer's works like this:
- 3 blinks only
- can't cancel it once it's started, trying to starts another 3 blinks from where you try
- allows tap durations that lets you get just a single blink out if that's what you want. This is different than VW Golf that makes it impossible to get just one blink, VW always initiates a series of 3 even if you're trying for just 1 or 2 blinks you get a series of 3 minimum.

So there you go, every car maker implements convenience signaling a bit different.

I like to think Tapturn is the best of the lot, so far I haven't found a car that let's you do everything it offers for convenience signaling. And Nobody offers the funky hazard modes of tapturn.

Good to know! Scott just testing all the features on my TapTurn and everything works great. If I remember correctly, wasn't there a hidden feature on the TapTurn that is not mentioned in programming instructions ?

Yes there is a hidden feature, it's "slow motion wig wag" hazard mode.
To get it doing this, get wig wag hazards going, then drop the signal stalk from the right signaling position to left signaling position in one quick motion without pausing in the neutral position. Don't do this violently - don't want to break the stalk - just really quickly.
Two fingers near the hinge and flick down is a good way. If you do it just right and get the timing right your wig wag will slow down to half speed.

Just installed this and the wig wag is a dope mod. Can't wait to see what it looks like switchback leds. Great work Scott!
