I'm by no means trying to say my Integra can hang with the Twins in a straight line or around a road course, however...."pretty slow"? New my GS-R hit 60 in 6.8 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 15.4 seconds (per C&D's January 1992 issue). That's barely off the pace of a well driven BRZ/FRS. And mine is slightly modified (CAI/header/catback exhaust).

I was an early adopter, having driven slow cars I was happy with the power on the test drive but after owning the car the torque dip is just weird. I could care less about all the rattles and chirping. I guess its the main reason I'm always nancy negative on this forum about the engine, it just doesn't inspire confidence when you rev and feel that dip in torque, never had a car do that unless something was wrong with it. Funky.

I miss power but the above stated is true.
Not so much a SPORTS car. More of a solid blank canvas to build upon. It's a sold foundation that can be improved and make an amazing all around-er

I drive it like it has two modes... One for normal driving, city traffic, etc.. Where low rpms prevail.. Below 4k rpms.. Enough tq to move you along just fine.. But no excitement.. When I want to play.. I up the rpms up and keep em up.. I still get that up on cam feel running thru the gears as it approaches 5k rpms.. I don't find this objectionable... Just part of the experience.. What I find interesting about this car... Is how much I enjoy its merger tq and HP.. Coming from a LS3 corvette with 430 ft lbs of tq.. I find myself not missing the big pull.. I enjoy working this sewing machine motor for all its got.. |

I won't lie, coming from a faster turbocharged car that had almost double the torque, I sometimes miss it in straightline acceleration. But the BRZ was never about straightline acceleration. It was well publicized by just about any review you read and readily apparent on my first test drive. That said, I really enjoy this car. There is something to be said for a light car that handles like it is on rails and has an NA engine that makes most of its torque down low. The fact that you can also get good gas mileage with the car doing all this is a huge bonus. You can easily add more horsepower and torque if you want it.
Life is also too dang short. If you find this car making you miserable, get rid of it. There are so many other cars out there that have more power in the same price range. I would also recommend being more thorough on a test drive and driving more cars before you buy. |

I did 2 test drives. The power at first did not bother me and I thought well its a sports car cut it some slack and over time you will get used to it. I didnt. |

I'm like most people. Love this car, will hang on to her because its not just awesome to drive and lookat, but it's got a boot a can go camping with.
Everything is awesome except the power delivery. It goes soft right in the fun zone, just where you want to have your regular driving play. I dont want to rev the bejesus out of her to have fun every day (although, that IS fun), i just want to give her a bit of a squirt on my drive home from work, and at the moment I have to drive her like a track car to achieve that. I don't want to complain really, I just cant wait to get a header and tune and if anything I guess it will be fun to install that and make her my own unique drive. |

honestly i dont know why people are complaining about the power. I had an STi before this, autox and tracked it, and ive also driven my dads viper a lot. This car is surprisingly fast, it even surprises me on the highway cruising above 4k (i have the 6mt) and before i know it im going 90 mph.

I hate that I can't drive it that much. I happen to live accross the street from work. But it keeps the miles low so my value will be good later down the road

Goes good but is not nearly as fast lol. I miss the power in my previous car, alot. But I can respect all the work tuners are doing to fix the power deficit. |
