No one else is running a Exedy clutch?
Really want one that has a OEM feel but stiffer in feel. From what I have seen the ACT 6 is hard to drive and get use too and the FX350 makes lots of noise decellerating and braking?

I honestly can't say its much, but of course this is all subjective. When you stop at a drive thru you can hear it. On driving, you can hear it sometimes yes, but its nothing like wow, this is awful. IMHO.

ACT makes a full face clutch that should satisfy your needs and should hold more than enough power for a bolt on forced induction kit.

I smell burning clutch when accelerating up inclines sometimes in a high gear.
We smelled strong burning clutch today on the dyno when we did a 5th gear pull. I am at 175-180 ft-lbs. I don't expect this thing to hold very long... |

Two weeks ago I took the ACT 6 puck out and put the full face street disc in. I kept my streetlite flywheel. While the idle and feel have greatly improved as well as my down shifts in to 2nd gear. I still get a crap load of noise when I decelerate while in gear. I'd actually like to get a quick video tomorrow to post here to see if others get this same level of noise. My previous cars with ACT light weight fly wheels never made this kind of noise and is the basis of my concern.

I would recommend the AVO clutch and flywheel. I have driven Bob's car from @Drift-Office (Thank you again Bob), he has the AVO 15 lbs flywheel and the organic clutch in his AVO Turbo charged FRS. OMG!!! I loved the way it felt. just a slight touch stiffer then stock and the engagement was amazing. I did not notice and nose from while driving the car. I did not push the car as I do not own it, but the reason I was allowed to test the vehicle was to feel the AVO clutch and flywheel.
over the last 10 years I have felt several different clutch and the first impression of this clutch was amazing and I was sold on the spot. I will be ordering the ceramic disk and Ill share my impression upon install. According to BOB and Paul @AVOturboworld they will feel the same just handle the heat better because of the minerals. |

I've run the ACS/AVO clutch plate & flywheel with full organic, carbon puck and currently the ceramic puck disc and they all made some decel noise somewhere between 3500 to 2500 rpm. I wasn't happy with the nvh from the ceramic disc and then with adding the STI engine mounts and either the STI or stock & whiteline trans mounts it's more noticeable.
I have an early 2012 build car, and even when they were stock I noticed I had way more shifter rattle/movement than driving @Benn0r's 2013 build car. So I'm thinking about trying to warranty the shifter with subaru, which could be interesting or try an aftermarket one. It could remove some of the nvh I am getting. But even with oem mounts the decel was noticable with this clutch combo, and since it's very similar to oem design I expect most clutches will be the same.

I replaced the throwout bearing as well.

Yep, it is the lightweight flywheel that makes the throwout bearing rattle. It is only really annoying to me at stoplights with the A/C on which puts enough load on the engine to make it start rattling.

@lbroskee, here are my thoughts on the ACT 6 puck clutch.
Pedal feel is actually LESS hard than mine. It felt light right after driving my car back to back. The clutch engagement point is harsher than mine (kind of obvious but just to confirm). Even with that, it is not a hard clutch to use. You just need to modulate the RPMs to get it to grab. My clutch is a bit more forgiving. You can slip y clutch more to give you some room as to when to engage. The 6 puck wants to engage as soon as it touches, but again, I was able to drive Chris's car with no issues and the only time it almost died was the first time I let the clutch out but it didn't die. All other instances were smooth. It's not a bad option at all. It was surprisingly easy to drive after reading a lot of people here complaint that it is so hard to drive.
