I don't see this saying only Subaru.

Powering two vehicles that are on the Car and Driver Magazine’s “10Best Car” of the 2013 list – the Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S, the “FA20” Boxer engine is compact, lightweight and has a low-center of-gravity. Combining with Toyota’s “4-DS” direct injection and port injection technology, the engine produces 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb.-ft of torque at 6400-6600 rpm.

The car is a Toyota design with a Subaru joint partnership
to make it of which Toyota owns a part of Fuji Heavy Industries.
You contradict yourself. When did I ever say it's ONLY SUBARU. I said a majority of the engineering work is Subaru. Why is that so hard for you to stomach? And the quote you put just proved my point even further. The FA20 is based on a current FB20 in which has the Toyota direct injection system. I JUST SAID THAT. lol. So yes, you are being purposely ignorant on the subject. Does this help you sleep at night or something? I've even said that it's BOTH and Toyota and Subaru. I don't get you?

Wheres the luxury? Plastic rattling interior, sport seats with faux leather bits and a stiff suspension? Pointless.

Nice Lexus FRS.

The reason I want to rebadge the car is because I just like the name GT86 better than FRS. It's like Nissan, in Japan they have great sounding names for cars like the Silvia, FairLady, and here we get 240sx and 300zx. I just feel it has more personality than Front-engine Rear-wheel-drive Sport.

...Just messin' with you Subie guy :P But seriously, it will be funny to see the Toyota vs Subaru argument reverse if reliable on these cars gets even worse. All the Toyota fan boys will start claiming that Subaru designed the car and the Subaru fan boys will start claiming that Toyota did all the design.

False.... this has been well discussed and documented actually. The Subaru naming on all the parts if because of where it was built as an agreement. Being that Tada San was the one who designed the look "obviously Toyota not Subaru as Subaru is not a curvy company" AE86, 2000 etc... as the baseline car design....The frame and much more was completely designed by Toyota, the suspension and the motor and more of course is all Subaru minus some Toyota engine features/mods etc... Much of yes a collaboration in the end.

As it also has been very well documented and discussed the Subaru people originally wanted nothing to do with a non turbo non awd car, at that point Toyota would have built it themselves and went with a rotary motor instead etc... Utilizing Toyotas ownership in Subaru and geo graphical placement of the Fuji plant it made sense to build it at that plant, Toyotas main plants are at full steam anyhow. All the BRZ/FRS/96s roll of the same line etc...Outside of exterior difference aside from moustache and badges.. the spring rates differ on the BRZ cause they thought for the Subaru crowd its more to their feel "what used to" of the AWD series they have made for years etc...

In conclusion I am happy that the joint venture was made and that Toyota showed Subaru it was worth the joint venture to come alive other wise final results may have been different.

If anyone needs multiple links to prove any or all of that I am sure when have time I can post for you but it's all buried here and been discussed and argued about several, several times.....

lol my bad folks, didn't even realize I was in the Toyota Zone. I just clicked on "new posts" Didn't mean to spark the Toyobaru subject. I'm glad Toyota/Subaru did what they did and came out with the GT86/FRS/BRZ.

Glad to see there are grown adults here though, unlike someone else who would rather send a hissy fit of a private message.
