Dyno take 2, 200whp on 92Octane ?!

I know there a lot of forum members are struggling to get 200whp with no force induction. From a lot of dynos shown online, I have yet to see any results that can reach the 200whp goal on pump gas. Now this could be a surprise to you

The dyno test is performed at DRIFT OFFICE at Auburn WA. For those that are not familiar, DRIFT OFFICE is also the authorized ECUTEK tuner in the Pacific Northest Region. Bob (Owner of DRIFT OFFICE) has ton of experiences for tuning for the BRZ /FRS with a lot of different setup such as bolt ons and Force Induction.

The first time when we took the car to DRIFT OFFICE earlier this year, the AJ BRZ was making 188whp with T1R Prototype header, T1R 70R single exhaust + OP + FP, STOCK INTAKE + Ecutek tune on 92 Octane. Here's the link for the dynoplot : http://www.aj-racing.com/ajpwr/ZC6/A...der & Tune.jpg

This time , we made a slight change on the T1R Prototype header and added a TRD intake (didn't remove the stock intake duct).

Here's the result :

Specs of the AJ BRZ :
- T1R 4-2-1 Race Header (42.7mm primaries / 63mm collector)
- T1R over pipe (63mm)
- T1R front pipe (63mm)
- T1R 70R single exhaust (70mm)
- TRD intake
- ECUTEK Tune by BOB at Drift Office

Temperature of the day we dynoed : 35C / 95F

Bob did an awesome job in tuning with our setup. He ran a numerous runs to assure the results are repeatable on an extreme hot day which it did

I also talked to Bob about the other setup that he has tuned, the highest number he had was 183whp with Borla UEL header, ARK Exhaust with OP & FP and I forgot what kind of intake so I will get Bob to confirm.

Here's the plot where were were comparison for the T1R + TRD setup vs Borla header + ARK exhaust !

Although our setup has a power dip at 3700-4200 but before & after, we made way more gains !!

This is just a reference for any of you who wonder what a good exhaust + tune can do !

Looks like t1r headers don't do too much for that tq dip there. Top end looks good tho. Real question is what mods on the comparsion car ther than the two you mentioned cause you have a full exhaust and Ark doesn't make full exhaust as far as I know.

That's relative but not accurate. I'll try and get a dyno plot of the T1R headers tuned against a stock 160-ish dyno run. You'll see. While there's a dip, you're still making power and torque globally.

No and we'll have to take credit for that. We spent an extra couple of hours (Ben and crew had to wait) to fine tune that MAF included with the TRD intake and it was pretty crappy. All sorts of turbulence encountered and it was a BIATCH to tune out. I wasn't 100% happy but I had to settle on what we had given how much time we had already spent.

The following day @ a local track event at a motorsports park, I had a photographer friend covering a vette for the day and noted that there was always this BRZ right on his tail at every turn... He instinctively picked up the phone and called me and said "Did you tune that BRZ that's on the track? The driver in the vette is asking me what's in it and how is that car even keeping up!?"

Cheers!

Awesome. I was just kinda surprised as most of the other header dynos show large gains in that dip area.

Me no care for NA any more anyways and its all your fault Bob

Bob, I have to pushed so hard on turns to close the gap cos the vette is blowing away from me on the straight big time !
